Please I Am Really Scared

I am really worried that something is wrong with me. Here goes: I was on bcp for 7 years. I graduated from undergrad and started PT school last summer. my fiance and I decided that we are going to wait untl we get married to have "intercourse" but we do other stuff. Anyway, I was extremely stressed and obsessed with exercise and very healthy eating and I lost 15 lbs. I have calmed down and gained 10 lbs back. I am just worried that I could be preg. I have taken 10 preg tests and all were negative. I just feel like I am pregnant even though I never had morning sickness, br___t tenderness. In fact I just feel like my stomach is getting bigger. My fiance tells me eveyday that it is all in my head and that the only reason I have gained wt is b/c I am eating more than just salads. I have a gyno appt Wed, but I am just scared that after reading all of these storries that I could possibly be preg since I have not had a period since Oct. I was also wondering what colostrum is and do you have to squeeze your nipples for it to come out. I hope this is all in my head. Surely a preg test would show + by 6mo and I would be showing to other people right? Sorry this is so long I just don't have anyonne to talk to Thanks

it's probably your body reacting to your severe dieting - when you don't eat enough you can often miss your period. if you really are 6 months pregnant, you would really be able to tell, trust me! But for peace of mind, can you go ahead and take a hpt just to see? I highly doubt you are - but you need to see your doctor anyway to start getting your period again. Don't worry - but talk to your doctor and take a test if you feel like you need to. Good luck!

I am glad you are seeing a doc. Even if your not preg. you need to find out what is going on. The only time I missed a period was once when I was preg. and once from stress when my mom had cancer. Take care of yourself and I hope it turns out the way you want it to! : )

what is colostrum and do you have to squeeze your nipples hard for it to come out?

Liz - May 2

Lins- I never had colostrum (pre milk) til the very end of pregnancy. But...I have also heard the some women have it and aren't pregnant. I guess everybody is different, eh?

thanks Liz I will let you know what the gyno says

liz have you ever heard of phantom pregnancy? Can you really have symptoms and it be in your mind?

Liz - May 2

Yup you sure can. I remember w/ my first ( I am a really grounded chick) I was convinced after 1 month of trying I was preggers and I wasn't. Oddly enough, the one month I had no symptoms.... i ended up preg. The mind is very powerful.

Liz, I don't want to feel like I am nuts, but the only symptom that I have is feeling like my stomach is getting bigger. When i wake up in the am it is compltely flat, but by the end of the day is seems huge. I never had nausea, b___b sorness, or anything else. I sometimes feel like there is something moving in there. surely if i was 6 mo preg, i would not have a flat tummy and be able to wear all of my clothes right? I am going nuts over this and I keep trying to believe the 10 negative tests that I have taken ( all first in the am) I am getting ready for finals next week and really don't need this stress.

Lins-The first thing you need is a blood test from your appt. I am guessing from your post this is something you'd rather have later in life. I think I would have freaked out back then too!!! I hope you weight gain is just that...weight gain. I am so glad you are seeing a dr. You need to get your health in order. I am 36 years old and trying for # 2. I was 29 w/ first. Ask me any questions you want to . Keep me posted and I wish you much luck!!!

You are correct. I am 26 years old and just beginning my professional career as a physical therapist. I do not want all this to ruin my relationship with my fiance. He keeps stressing that we never had intercourse and since I am worrying soo much he is starting to believe that I cheated on him, which ABSOLUTELY did not happen. I hope that this is all due to weight loss and extreme stress. A friend told me that this happens if you have been on the pill for a long time and the doc will give you meds to start your period. Is this true?

Liz - May 2

I was on the pill for 5 years and it took only 1 month for my system to straighten out. I talk to another person on a thread whose period is all messed up and has a doc. appt. as well. I think it';s great you are a pt. One of my best friends from college is a pt too. You really need to get some answers from a dr. Write everything down so you remember. Stress and weightloss ma__sive wreck havock on your system. I worked w/a marathon runner that lossed a bunch of weight and didn't have period for 2 months. Have a blood test and show your fiance to ease his mind!!!!!!
