Pre Term Deliveries

Did people that have had early labor/deliveries, say 35 weeks and earlier, have any miscarriages in their lives prior to that pregnancy? Or can pre-term labor come on just as easily for people with no prior pregnancy complications? I was just wondering if maybe pregnancy complictions of any kind generally happened to the same people over & over.

Not sure why your asking. I had a miscarriage in Oct 2004. Then in Aug 2005 mI had my baby 4 weeks early. He is prefectly healthy normal baby. I also had a normal delivery.

I am pregnant with my 5th, and my first 3 were normal and I was induced with them at 41 weeks. My 4th one was not so easy at 23 weeks I started going into labor and by 26 weeks my water broke . At 27 weeks my lil guy joined us wighing in at 1 lb 13 oz... After spending 2 months in the hospital he cam home and he is now a healthy 4 yr old with no mental or physical problems. He is a lil underweight, but he willl catch up. With this pregnancy I have been contracting for the last 2 weeks but not dialating and I am 23 weeks as of today. They say I have a 50/50 chance of going early again. So i just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. I hope that helped you some and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

The reason I was asking is because my husband & I have a feeling that this one is going to be early even though I've never had prior problems. I was just checking to see if I'm being paranoid. Thank God your 4yr. old turned out to be fine <Mel>! I'm 29 weeks now, and I'm really scared of going into labor before 37 weeks. I've heard stories of babies turning out o.k. being born early, but I don't want mine to have to go through the things in the hospital to survive.

I post at another board, where a woman gave birth at 25 weeks - her little girl is now 8 months old, and is developmentally on par with my 5 month old baby, who was born at 37 weeks. We originally had due dates within a week of each other. Not only did her 25 week micropremie survive and thrive, but she has had nothing but b___stmilk her entire life...the mom has exclusively pumped for 8 months, and is now trying to teach AC (the baby) to latch.

I delivered at 35 weeks only because i had to be induced because of preeclampsia but he was perfectly healthy. he was born 4lbs 15oz and was 5lbs 2 days later when it was time to leave the hospital

My doc also told me that I may never be able to carry a baby full term. Once they are healthy and ok. I am ok with that :)

I'm due Feb. 9th, but I think he'll be here by Jan 20th. I see it as the baby comes when its ready.
