Question About Birth Weight

My husband and I were both ten pound babies, and so I've got everyone telling me, "oh, your baby's going to be huge!" - does a parent's birth weight actually have any influence over what your baby will weigh at birth?

I have heard that you can take the average of both of your birthweights and that will giv eyou a good estimate. But the main factor is genes and nutrition. My husband was very large and I was only about 7 pounds but the u/s tech gives me weights every week and it seems that my daughter is taking after her father when it comes to birthweight.

I was a 7 pound baby, my husband was 6 pounds - we were both born late. My daughter was born 3 weeks early, and weighed over 8 pounds.
