Question About Early Babies

I'm sure all moms-to-be expecience this but I have this insanely strong feeling my little one will be arriving way sooner than expected! I'm 33 weeks on monday (i'm also a young mom, i've heard that being younger will sometime make preterm labor a higher risk) and i've been put on bed rest for contractions and some signs of early labor. So my question is, what kinds of problems should i be expecting with an early baby? Health issues and such? And i've been told he could look like a monkey! I know it's terribly shallow of me but i want my baby looking precious! Can any moms or anyone with some kind of input help me? No horror stories please!

when you say you are a young mum...how young??.......premature babies may need help with breathing, and may have a little jaundice, i cant really help, but i can talk. x

Well I had my little man at 36 weeks and no problems. He was tiny but got to go home with me right away. 4lbs 15oz at birth then 5lbs by the time we left. The only concern my doc had before inducing me was breathing n eating on his own once born because sometimes the lungs and/or digestive system arent fully developed but even then there is soo much hospitals can do so try not to worry too much. Oh btw, you will think your baby will look precious no matter what.

yeah i wouldn't worry about you thinking your baby looks funny. even if your baby looks like a monkey it will be the most precious monkey in the nursery. i dunno, to me ALL babies are perfect.
