Receiving Blankets Like Hospitals Have

Hi, does anyone know where to get receiving blankets like the ones hospitals use (white with turqouise and pink stripes). You can see one on my piczo: http://bbkbbk.piczo.com it's the middle picture where the baby is sleeping. We got one for the dogs to smell, and it is by far the best when compared to the ones from buy buy baby..... the nurse offered me more and I feel bad for not taking them....(my daughter sleeps better when she's wrapped). Thanks for any info!

I loved them as well, and we took several home with us. They are not much to look at but are perfect for swaddling. You may consider calling the hospital to ask. Or do you think you will get the run around?

Not that you want to, but you can have mine if you have someone at work that I could mail them to, without you feeling like your privacy was invaded... You would have to figure that out. I have no way to know how to arrange mailing something without knowing where it's going:) It's up to you, BBK.

Not sure, but have you tried calling the hospital (Labor and Delivery specifically) to see if you can buy some from them? Maybe you could go back and find that generous nurse and see if the offer is still good. Give her a bit of a sob story to help your case. Our hospital didn't offer to give us one, although I REALLY wanted to take one. I have a heavy conscience, so I couldn't just "accidentally" take one. One more thing to remember, Anna will learn to squirm her way out of receiving blankets by the time she's 2 months, so don't load up on them thinking you'll need them through infancy. :o)

Don't you hate it when you post nearly the exact same response as the previous person, but you have no way of knowing until you've already hit "submit"? I always go back and read my post to make sure it makes sense, and lately i've been about 1-2 minutes late and am saying the same thing as the last person who posted. Does this rambling even make sense? :o)

You can always try ebay, but the best recieving blankets we have to swaddle in are the thermal blankets. They look like the thermal underware or shirts. They are very stretchy and are much bigger than the ones from the hospital. Amaya is 3 months and still LOVES to be swaddled and this is the only blanket big and light (due to hot summers) enough to swaddle her with.

one more thing, when looking on ebay just type in hospital blankets. You will get a bigger selection.

Thanks all, and thanks for the offer E, I don't want to put you though all that trouble for something I'll use such a short time. Very sweet of you. Tiff, she can squirm now, and resists them, but she still sleeps better. One thing we hate about the other blankets is that they are too small and too stretchy.... the baby seems to dislike stretchy. Stephanie....ebay! Of course! I always forget about them :-) Thanks a bunch!
