Does anyone know if Scarlet Fever is harmful to a fetus? I am 14 1/2 weeks pg and my daughter has that as well as tonsillitis ... and of course, my DH forgot to ask the doc if it is harmful to me.

I'd call your doc's office to find out....I don't have any idea.

Scarlet fever is not the same as tonsillitis. Scarlet fever is from Group A Strep bacteria that absolutely needs to be treated by a dr. Call your doc back and find out exactly what your daughter has. good luck

Scarlet fever is spread by direct contact, and if treated can only be spread for 24-48hrs.It's uncommon for children under the age of 6 to get scarlet fever. But it would still be a good idea to ask you dr,to be on the safe side.
