I am 6 months pregnant and have pain with a wisdom tooth, can I have this tooth pulled?

Probably not a good idea to have it pulled while pregnant because of the local anesthesia they use but they may have some that would be safe for you. You just don't want it to get infected or anything. Maybe you should go to the denist and have them give you some antibiotics. I think the pain will go away shortly anyway. I'm having the same problem.

I am a Dental Hygienist. At 6 months you are at the end of the "convienient time" to do dental work. Having a wisdom tooth pulled is OK during pregnancy. They use local which doesn't effect the baby....but, some people do not like to have work done until after they deliver. I would go to your dentist and have them take a look at it. If it is infected, it would be a good idea to have it taken care of. If it is just "coming to the surface" (which wisdom teeth do if they are unable to erupt the first time, and will continue to do until they are "stuck") the pain should subside, and you can wait until you deliver. The best advice I can give you, is have it looked at. Good Luck.
