A transv____al ultrasound is an ultrasound that is performed v____ally rather than on top of the belly. It is a wand looking thing that the ultrasound tech will insert about 2 inches inside of you to give them a close-up/better view of things. They are very common if you have an ultrasound during your first trimester.

That's exactly what it is, and it isn't in the least bit painfull. I've had several early on in my pregnancy's and hardly feel a thing.

the only thing that sucks about a transv____al ultrasound is that your bladder has to be very full and you have to pee while they're doing the scan, but it doesn't hurt.

Jenna - that's wrong = The bladder does NOT have to be full during a transv____al u/s. As a matter of fact, my doctor had me empty my bladder beforehand.

My doctor told me to have a full bladder when I went in. First she did the regular ultrasound on top of my belly, then she had me empty my bladder, then she gave me the transv____al ultrasound.
