My girlfriend's period starts between the 15th-18th every month. And we had unprotected s_x today on the 30th. Is this a very bad day for us to have s_x? We are really incapable of taking care of a baby as we're still young. Do you people think that she'll be pregnant? I heard that a white discharge indicates that she's on her ovulation period? I saw some on the 24th of this month if i am not wrong. We didnt have s_x on that day though. Could anyone give me some advice. thanks.

Oh and uhm, I forgot to mention, We did use the withdrawal method today. Does it reduce the chances of getting pregnant? I really need to know.

your girlfriend would have ovulated (depending on her body and cycle) between the 25th and 30th....the pull out method is not full proof because if pre ejaculation. if you are that worried, have her go to a clinic and see if its not too late for the Plan B pill, the morning after pill.

CuriousOne - April 30

What does this morning after pill mean? Could you explain more? And the problem is we can't let our parents know about this.

CuriousOne - April 30

Well her parents actually. My parents are fine with it. Just worry about hers, Since she's studying

The morning after pill is an emergency contraceptive, that has to be used in a certain time frame after unprotected s_x. It is not an abortion pill, it just prevents and fertilization after unprotected s_x. If you go to a clinic, everything is confidential. I am not sure where you live, but in most states (in US) we have Planned Parenthood's that are [typically] free clinics that offer the Plan B pill....take her down there, get the Plan B Pill...and get her on birth control if you guys are not ready for kids yet.

Ah that kinda sucks. Because well, we live in singapore. and i've checked, There are planned parenthood's in singapore. To tell you the truth, she's only 15. And i'm lost because singapore's legal age for s_x is 16. Im afraid that if we go there. You know..

i understand you're concern.....but what is the bigger issue...her getting pregnant, right? Planned Parenthood's are completely confidential. All she would have to do is go in there and explain that she had unprotected s_x and that she wants the Plan B pill.....She does not have to disclose any information on her partner's age or anything. At least here in the states, they cannot do anything to a person because they are having s_x, that is, after all, why the clinic is there....for pregnancy prevention and services. Have her call and ask about it, before she goes in...if it will make her feel more comfortable.

CuriousOne - April 30

Alright i understand. I will try to talk to her about it. She isn't worrying as much as me. which makes me worry even more.

Nopi, i have a question. Is it also possible to buy the pill in a drugstore? she isnt that comfortable talking to the doctor. i did read about it selling in drugstores

The phone at Singapore Planned Parenthood is 6775 8981 - you can call there and ask for information on "the morning after pill". You had s_x real close to her ovulation time (14 days before her next period). For completely unprotected s_x that gives you a 33% chance of pregnancy. By using pull-out the chance is reduced by a factor of 4, to a bit less than 10%. From now on use a condom all the time, and stay away from her fertile window days 8 through 16 of 28. That cuts the chance down to 2%. Good luck!

CuriousOne - April 30

may you define the term fertile window days 8 through 16 of 28? i do not understand.

CuriousOne - April 30

Uhm grandpa viv, Do you think i should get the pill ? I heard it causes damage to the body, and she's only 15. will it affect her permanently?

Nopi - May 1

I know that some drug stores/pharmacies around me sell the pill without a dr...but you will have to call and ask to find out who does and doesnt. What GrandpaViv means is that there is (typically) 28 days in a cycle....and typically a woman's body is fertile between day16-28, depending on her body. when she is fertile is when she is most likely to become pregnant. if your girlfriend is not comfortable with seeing a dr, especially in an instance like this, i would suggest using condoms. you cannot just ignore the pregnancy risk if you are openly not ready for babies.

CuriousOne - May 1

I'd like to use condoms too. but we had a drink and drank too much. i forgot about the condom. my terrible mistake. its now the 30th hour and i still dont know what to do. Should i take the risk and play by chance?

Grandpa Viv - May 1

Please telephone Planned Parenthood and ask their advice - we don't know what is available in Singapore. My suggestion is that she take the morning after pill - it will not harm her, though it may upset her next menstrual cycle. A woman normally drops an egg 14 days before the beginning of her next period. Sperm can lie in wait for 5 days, but once the egg drops it is only good for a day or two. Figure it out, and good luck!
