6 Months Old Play Time Question

Hello ladies! My ds is almost 6 months old, and I have recently become a SAHM- yeah! I am just wondering how much time your babies spend playing on their own (crawling, in jumperoo, etc- not actually alone) as opposed to you actually playing with them? It seems like my ds is content to play on his own about 3/4 of his awake time. I feel bad letting him entertain himself- like I am ignoring him, but sometimes if I go over and play with him he gets frusterated and cries when I get up. Anyone else feel like this? BTW- we spend about 2 hours throughout the day doing things together ( reading books, talking, etc).

My dd is almost 5.5 months old and I'm a SAHM too. I play with her, but then I also need to get stuff done around the house. I'll usually cart her around with me. For instance, she'll be in her exersaucer while I do the dishes, or be in her bouncy while I vacuum, etc. Then'll we'll have floor time together, go out to the mall together, etc. If she is not tired and has a full tummy, she will play by herself... if she is cranky, she needs my undivided attention! Right now she has her first cold, so she is cranky a lot of the day. It is exhausting!

I say lucky you! If you just recently became a SAHM that may be the reason, he may have had to a bit more on his own if he was in daycare. I would say if he wants to play by himself just leave him be. He may just be an independant guy...I'm a little jealous since I rarely get a moment to myself.
