Advice For My Poor Sick Boy

My ds is 7 months old, he developed a chesty cough on Tuesday and it doesn't seem to have cleared up. Well Tuesday night he woke every 40 minutes, last night I raised his matress and he slept okish. He has had diarrhea (sp?) for 2 days now, he is only eating 4oz every 3-4 hours, he is normally such a hungry baby but he's not even winging for food. he won't touch any of his solids. He's not being sick, but I am worried about dehydration, i am giving him juice but again won't take much. I saw the doctor Tuesday morning and he listened to his chest and said there was no infection, his cough doesn't seem to be bothering him too much as he's still his giggling self when he's awake. He is also sleeping loads, he normally only has two 1 hour naps, he has been sleeping nearly all day today. Any ideas on what to do, the doctor didn't seem too worried but now he has diarrhea I am a little more worried.

Just keep an eye on him and if it continues take him back to the pedi you could also try to get the pedialite ice pops or just reg ice pops and offer that to him may help keep him hydrated and keep your from worring....he is just sick and think about it when your sick you don't want to eat and you mainly want to sleep it off right?! But if it keeps up def take back to pedi...

i feel for u lindsey, its so horrible when they are ill, when my lo had a cough and cold over xmas he slept so much that i had to keep checking him but he was fine and if hes taking some milk then thats good,i took my ds to the docs after his cold because of chest infections but chest was clear,as long as he seems normal in himself as u said hes giggling when awake,my ds hasnt had a bout of diarrhea yet.there are so many bugs going around at the moment, how often has he got the diarrhea.

he has had the diarrhea now for 2 days, he seems alittle better as i have been giving him his cough medicine and he also took 6 oz before bed tonight, so i will just keep an eye on him. You can see it in his eyes that he is poorly, they're all red and puffy. Bless him, these are the times I wish he could talk and also understand me so i can soothe him.

Just an fyi otc medicines are hard on the tummy and can make the trots worse as can juice. We give my ds juice whenever hes plugged up and it helps him go. I hope you lo gets better soon
