Another Solids Question

DD has been on solids for almost 2 mos now and loves it, but I feel like I'm totally over feeding her or just not doing something right. This is our schedule, which is not super consistent as she wakes up at different times in the am. If she gets up for the day before 7am I just giver her a bottle and at her next feeding she get cereal and a bottle. If its after she gets 2 tbs of oatmeal and a bottle (8oz). Then for lunch she has rice cereal w/ bananas and a veggie (either carrots or sweet potatos), about 2 tbs of each and a bottle. At her next feeding around 4:30 I just give her a 4 or 5 oz bottle and then before bed around 8pm she gets cereal, veggies and a bottle. Sorry this is so long, I just feel like I'm doing something wrong. Is this too much, too little. DD is approaching 6 mos and is very big (over 20lbs). Sorry this is so long. Thanks in advance

Honestly - I can't say you're doing anything wrong - what makes you say that? Personally, I try not to feed my son solids and formula at the same time, but there are times when he wants that bottle no matter what I do! Also, I have heard it is not a good idea to feed them solids at bedtime, but I want to say that is because feeding them at bedtime is a hard habit to break when they start to get older (1 year +) and have dinner at 6 with the family! I know with my older son it was hard when he turned a year and still wanted to eat at 8:30 every night. My son is 6.5 months, so I can just give you our schedule and you can compare. Bottle at 8am, two Stage 2 foods at 9:30, bottle at noon, mesh feeder w/ fruit and sippy cup at 2:30, bottle at 4, two Stage 2 foods at 6:30, bedtime bottle at 8. Obviously, we haven't added a solid lunch yet - next week I will probably start. He weighs right at 20lbs and is 30" long, so he's a pretty big kid and sometimes I wonder if I will ever fill him up! I just don't think there is a right way or a wrong way - just your way or my way or someone else's way!

i don't think you are dong anythng wrong, i don't give my son a bottle with solids at the same time. i give him a bottle when he wakes up 8oz. an hour later cereal/fruit and then at 11:30 bottle lunch at 12:30 a veggie and fruit and then a bottle at 4 and dinner at 6 fruit/and 2 veggies and a bottle before bed around 7:30.
