Anyone Else Have A Small Baby

my daughter is almost 3 months old, was born a month early. she was 5 pounds 6 ounces at birth and now is only 9 pounds 11 ounces. i know every baby grows at a different rate. She is growing length wise, she is very long, just kinda skinny. she is formula fed and eats very well. I myself was long and thin as a baby so I'm just wondering if she will take after me. her doctor switched her to a different forumla that has more calories in it. anyone else have a baby like this? thanks.

My dd is 4 months on weighs only 13lbs 3oz...she was 8lb 14oz at birth. She eats great and has recently started cereal so hopefully she will chunk up a little bit. But she is in the 50% for weight and 75% foir height so i'm not too concerned..

Dont worry at all. My daughter is 21 months old and only weighs 19 lbs. she is very tall and pet_te. She gets it from my husband. She eats like a big, just has a great metabolism. Doctors are never worried with her, they just say she is pet_tie.

My munchkin was 5 weeks early, and weighed 4 lbs. 3 oz..... (he is now almost 8 mos. old and weighs 16 lbs. 4 oz.) At 3 mos. old he weighed just over 9 lbs. To me it sounds like your daughter is growing just fine. It takes a little while for smaller babies to catch up... but they eventually do at their own rate. My daughter was 5 lbs 9 oz. (full term) when she was born and by 3 mos. weighed 13 lbs. I try not to worry about my son's growth, but cant help but compare him to his sister when she was younger.....

Ellie was 5 lbs 10 oz at birth and when she went in for her 4 month she was 10 pounds. I am small so I am sure it's just in the genes.

My daughter Sophie was born 3 weeks early and was 5 pounds 5 at birth. At 16 weeks she was 11 pounds 9 so she's probably growing at a similar rate to yours. That's fine.

i wouldnt even worry about it. my daughter is just about 11months. at birth she weight 7lbs 6oz. now shes about 17lbs. shes a very pet_te baby. shes under the baby weight scale though. she eats very well and drinks homogenized milk. shes healthy but very tiny. ive had people thinking shes 3months old and im like noo shes because shes very small and tiny doesnt means she 3months..but its all good. i wouldnt even worry about my baby's size/weight. its normal

shanna, my dd was 6 weeks early, and she weighed exactly the same thing!! she is up to 11lb 11oz, now, but all she does is eat.....but her ped. has had her on rice cereal for about 3 weeks now bc she has had some issues with reflux. she will be 3 mo. on 3-16...i wouldn't worry too much....good luck!!

My dd Taylor was 5lbs 6ozs also at birth and at her 2 month appointment(9 weeks) she was 10lbs 11ozs. I don't have a baby scale at home but when I weigh myself and then weigh us together the scale says 12 lbs difference. I think she just had a growth spurt though as she has been sleeping all week long. Right now she is 11 weeks old.Don't worry it sounds like she is right on target and all is well.

ugh i hate when i miss something...i forgot to tell daughter was 2 weeks early.

My 21 month old is that way. He's probably about 30lbs now, but he's also really, really tall and you can see his bones. It's kinda yucky looking. But, he eats all the time! Anything we eat, he eats, and anything we don't eat he eats, lol. Most of it is healthy, though. He's 45% for weight and like 90% for height. As long as the doctors aren't concerned try not to be, too.

Sarah was 7 lbs even at birth and when we went and she was about 11 weeks she was 10lbs 12oz. She is in the 25th percentile for her weight and they say she's following her "curve" well but I still think she's tiny. Glad to know I'm not the only one with a little one.
