My dd is 5.5 months and when she does wake she'll mostly always take only about 3 oz. once in a while she'll take maybe 5. I don't know if I should stop giving her bottles and just keep trying to give her her paci, but what if she's really hungry????

I've read different things but generally under 8 months, expect your l/o to need a night feed.

Every baby is different... the experts say by 12-13 lbs I think that baby could sleep through the night.. I don't think most babies do till around 6 months or so and some babies more like 9 months. alot depends on you and the baby. I loved my daughters 230 am feed to 5 am because she slept through a few times and started nursing less and less at that time. She did the 5 am feed for a while (a few weeks) and then slept through. So around 6 months she started sleeping 630pm-7 am without a feeding. But that it because I knew she wan't really hungry at night- she eats ALOT during the day (every 1.5-2 hours)

My daughter is 4 months old...she still wakes up every 1.5-2 hours. For the past 2 weeks she don't sleep. I don't see it slowing down since it just got worse. My doctor told me I could start her on solids, but i would rather wake every 1.5-2 hours then start her on solids. She isn't getting that til 6 months. Did she already start solids?

she meaning you lo

Yes she started solids, I give her solids 3 times a day. Maybe she's like her dad and just loves to eat!!

Hi, my lo is 6 months -- I am still waiting for him to sleep through without a feeding -- I give him solids throughout the day -- makes no difference whatsoever.. :( He wakes up for a feed at 1am and quickly sucks back 8oz -- so indeed he is hungry.. guess time will tell --- I just wish I could fall back asleep as quickly as he does!

My baby didn't sleep thru the night, and at her 6 month check up, my doc told me to stop feeding her at night, she doesn't need it, and is just probably used to it. Two nights later she slept thru the night. Call your ped and ask there opinion.

I was told by the ped that you should slowly wing that midle of the night feeding. If your lo wakes and eats 3 oz now. Then only give him 2 oz for a few days then 1 oz and then nothing. He told me that they usually only wake for a comfort feed and not because they are hungry. Good luck
