I just bought one for my 8 week old dd the other night. It works AWESOME.. she likes sitting in it nice and upright! Id say.. get one.. it would be perfect for your situation. ~Kristin~

I just got mine a week ago, and my DS loves it! but i limit his time in b/c if i leave him in it to long it seems as if his core muscles are sore...even though he likes to sit in my lap all the tip...my DS is 15 weeks...

LOOOOVE IT! My dd is 6 1/2 months and still uses hers. She sits in it on the counter beside me while I'm cooking, doing dishes, whatever in the kitchen. And she also sits in it on the dryer while I'm doing laundry. Sometimes we use it for feeding time. It's good for restaurants. I've also used it in the bathtub. I love my Bumbo!!!!

i love mine too and so does dd. she's at a stage now where she loves to sit up and look at everything. Its not practical to have her on my knee all the time so we put her in her bumbo and she sits there quite the thing! its great for feeding solids in as well!

I have always been told that you dont sit a baby up until it can sit up alone. Is this true? Because whenever I sit ds up I feel really bad and lay him back down again...sorry mosley for posting in ur post

My son hated it. I think it was because he couldn't move his legs. He loved to sit up, so we just put the boppy pillow behind him. At a little over 4 mos he could already sit up by himself for about 10 minutes at a time. Atleast you can take it back if your son doesn't like it - we kept it for about 3 weeks then returned it.

Where can you buy one of these bumbo thingys? Do they sell them in Canada?

nancy37 - February 5

mandee, you can buy them at Toys R Us in Canada.

Just bought my 17 week old son one last week. He had a HUGE smile on his face when I put him in it. He looks so adorable in his Bumbo. I only put him in it for 15-20 mins at a time to strengthen up his back muscles since he can't sit up on his own yet. He hasn't complained yet.

If you have an average sized baby, Id say go for it. If you have a larger baby, then I wouldnt get one. My dd only fit in her Bumbo seat until she was about 3.5 months. After that, she was too big. At 3.5 months, she wasnt really interested in sitting bolt upright, she really prefered her bouncy chair. Now, at 6 months, she'd love to sit upright in the bumbo.. but at 21lbs, there is no way she would fit. Just something to consider...

well he's 3 1/2 months and weighs 15 lbs or so, so he'd probably get some use out of it..even if i just use it for a month id be relieved..lol

maybe you can get one second hand? Save some money... Im sure you can find one on Ebay... they have everything.

vonzo - February 5

Sorry to post again but i looked on ebay before i got mine and when you include shipping they cost the same or sometimes even more than they would in a shop. My reasoning was just buy one in a shop and when my dd growns out of it in a couple of months i'll get my money back from it on ebay seeing as they're going for roughly the same price!! Entirely your decision though, if you can find a bargain on ebay then GREAT! :o)

mosley12 - February 5

i looked on ebay too, and the cheapest i could find one after including shipping, was only like 4-5 dollars less. i would have rather just paid that and have it now..lol..so i went and got one, but ds is asleep right now so we havnt used it yet
