Tell a little about your 1 year old. Are they talking, walking? What is their H/W? Are they on whole milk? Bottles? What kind of foods are they eating? What are their sleeping habbits like?

cae - January 30

Ethan just had his 1 yr check up. He is 26.5lbs and is 32inches tall. He is sleeping 11-12 hrs a night. Is down to one nap in the late morning which is about 2-5hrs long. He is walking independently. He only says dada. He is on the bottle. He will be weaned off of formula next week. We replaced one of his bottle feedings with his sippy cup. We will try to drop another one next week. He is still working on table foods. We do alot of Gerber graduate pastas. He will only eat anything that is still pretty mushy. Although, he does love crackers, and all kinds of them.

cae - January 30

oops...his nap is 2.5hours long not 2-5hrs.

I will go first I guess!! My dd was one last week. She is 30.5 inches tall, weighs 18.5 lbs, she has been walking since 9.5 mos, she talks constantly- it is like having a parrot around- she mimics everything we say!! She is still NOT sleeping thru the night, but it is getting better. She has 8 teeth. She still wears 6-9 mo clothing, shoe size 4... what else??? She is a good eater, but she is CONSTANTLY on the go.... so it seems as though she burns off everything she takes in! She is on whole milk, still on a bedtime bottle, but that is the only one. Her favorite foods are grilled cheese, string cheese and chicken strips. She also loves popsicles and drinking from a big girl cup (with a__sistance!) I feel like I am filling out a "singles add" for her!! LOL

ashtynsmom - January 30

WOW... you all posted those while I was typing!! HA

cae - January 30

LOL ashtynsmom. Hey sounds your dd is doing great. She is doing well in the food department. Where Ethan is still working on table foods. I cant wait until Ethan is just taking a night time bottle. It will be soon though, because he is doing so good transitioning so far.

Braden turned 1 on the 15th, but won't go to the dr until next Wed. He is approx 22.5lbs (by our scale). He sleeps about 8hrs at night, and one 1.5 to 2hr nap in the late morning. He gets one "next step" formula bottle in the am, whole milk bottles at 10, 2 & bedtime (he loves his bottles). He has been walking since 9.5 months, but he wears a size six shoe! He says dada, mama, uh-uh (for uh-oh) and now buh-buh while waving bye bye, lol. He eats mac & cheese at every opportunity, yo-baby yogurt, cheerios, goldfish crackers, and really is off baby food, but still working on more meat & veggies in his diet. He is a little monkey, climbing onto the couch, doing chinups on his high chair, getting into the kitchen cabinets. And what a temper this kid's my mom's curse "you'll have one just like you", lol.

Justin just had his 18 month check up. He's 34 1/2" and 27 lbs. 14 oz. Size 2T. Been walking since 13 months and adding new words left and right, even stringing some together... my earliest talker by far!! He gets up around 8 (ish), eats breakfast and plays with Leah. Watches Sesame Street at 9am. We get Nathan off the bus at 10:50 and then come home, play, and eat lunch. More play and then naps at 1:45... for about 2 hours. Comes down and snuggles with me after his nap and then it's the whole dinner affair (making, eating, cleaning lol). I usually have grocery shopping or cleaning jobs in the evening, so DH puts him to bed. That's our rough schedule. He drinks whole milk, water, and juice. Eats pretty much anything that gets in his way lol.

My dd just turned 1 and he is 32.5" tall and weighs 23 pounds. He just started wearing 12-18 month clothes although still fits into some of his 6-12 month stuff. He is sleeping about 10 hours a night and takes 2 (sometimes 3!) mini-naps a day (I get excited if he naps longer than an hour, lol). He is walking and is always on the go. He says ma-ma, da-da, bobble (for bottle), ball, and "all-done". He was b___st-fed until 7 months and now is on formula. He still has about 4 bottles a day of Earth's Best Organic formula and is not on whole milk yet. He eats oatmeal, cottage cheese, yogurt, sweet potatoes, squash, pears, avocadoes, carrots, whole grain waffles, fruit smoothies i make in the blender (those are his favorite!), corn, peas, and about 2 jars of veggies or fruit a day. He still prefers bottles to solids, but that is slowly changing. In the evenings he likes playing with his blocks, listening to music and having mommy read to him! He is usually ready for bed around 7:00pm and up by 5:00am or 6:00am. He's in daycare and plays outside a lot during the day with his pals and he particularly likes going down the slide and playing in the sand.

Angela in California - January 30

Oh - forgot to mention he LOVES water (or "agua" as he calls it since I guess that's easier to say!). He drinks about 10 oz. a day in his sippy cup!!

Mary Grace is sleeping 10 hours ay night and taking a nap at around 11 am for an hour or two and another nap at about 4pm for 45 min to an hour. she weighed 18lbs at her 12 month appt. last month and was 28 and 1/2 inches tall. She is walking independently and says mumma, dada, kitty, doggie, and hot. She eats virtualy everything I put in front of her like pasta, broccoli, peas, fruits of all kinds, cheese, toast, hummus, yogurt, plain cream on top kind with a little pureed fruit mixed in. I sometimes will supplement her diet of tablefood with a jar of organic baby food if she has not eaten any fresh veggies and in that case it is either peas or green beans. She is still nursing about four times a day and is starting to show a bit of a temper. She does not like to be told no, she actually will cry if I say no in a stern voice.

Masin is 26 pounds and 32 inches, he is really slowing down compared to what he was. He eats rpetty much everything we do, unless it is too hard to gum up since he has no molars yet. He is 3/4 of the way to full milk. We are transitioning slowly because he tends to spit it up. He drinks water from his sippies but milk from the bottle and I am in no hurry to enforce it. :P I like my cuddle time. He scooches around on his b___t, lol. He will stand, but only if I put him up to something. He is just now starting to pull up onto his knees. No cruising at all though. He also can not get into a sitting position on his own which I worry about. But he can do some of the shape sorters. As always, he seems ahead on some things and behind on others. He is in between 1-2 naps a day (og how I love the transitions) and sleeps 8pm until 8 am.

sashasmama - January 30

My daughter is 13 months old, she's 21 lbs. She just started walking, and says words hi, hat, mama, daddy, sock. She also waves and says hi, the other day she saw dh in the bathroom, waved and said "hi daddy" I was soo surprised. She can also brush her hair, tries to brush teeth, puts on necklaces, puts on her hat, tries to dress herself, knows a few colors. I just weaned her from b___st, so she's on whole milk, she drinks it out of a nuby bottle with a silicone straw.

k.p.j.e. - January 30

It's so funny how it seems like babies who walk early (like mine) don't say words very well until later, and babies who are good talkers, using words, like sashasmama's baby don't walk until a little later. I might be wrong here but maybe some are just more physical and some are more intellectual!! Not that physical babies are dumb, of course...

ConnorsMommy - January 30

Connor had his 1yr. check-up on Jan. 17th. He is 23lbs. 10z. and 29.5in. tall. He's been walking independently since 10mos. He can say mama, dada, "tayda" (our dog's name is Kada), "toodle" (we have a turtle.. well, a tortoise, but I figured turtle would be a little easier), and "tup" for cup.. lol.. He's not on whole milk (anymore), he was showing some allergic reations so I took him off (my family has a history of lactose intolerance.. so I figured I'd wait a little longer), so he's on the stage 2 formula. He's been strictly on sippy cups since 8mos. He eats anything that's soft enough to chew (he only has 4 teeth... well, 2 more just popped through [so 6 teeth], but they're not big enough to aid him in chewing yet.. lol)... He wakes up at 7 or 7:30am, but he's happy to stay in his crib till about 7:45-8am... and lately he's been taking a nap at 10am and sleeping till about noon... and then taking another nap around 2 or 3 for about an hour... and then he's in bed by 7pm and asleep by 7:15pm.

My son Kale is 13 months old. He is a MONSTER. He is 26 lbs and 32 inches tall. He has been walking since he was 10.5 months old and gets into everything. He doesn't talk to much, he says mom, dada, dog, uh-oh, thank you, and that is about it. But he knows what a lot of things are, if I tell him to get his juice he knows what it is, same with his cars, books, and his leapfrog Tad. He is bottle broke and has been since 7 months and he is on whole milk. He loves to eat everything....and when I say everything I mean he will eat anything you put in his mouth. I am yet to find something he will not eat. He sleeps from 9 p/m to 6 a/m gets up and has some milk, then he goes back to sleep until 9 or 10. He takes one afternoon nap. He loves his bath time and his favorite toys to play with are his hot wheels cars with his daddy.

shelly22 - January 30

My lo will be 1 in 2 weeks. He hasn't had his checkup yet but is about 25 lbs and about 32 inches I would say (according to our scale and tape measure)He wears 18 month clothing, size 4 or 5 shoe, and size 4 diaper. He's been on 100% whole milk for about 3 1/2 weeks with no more bottles. He eats everything pretty much, he has 11 teeth (including 3 molars!) His favorite foods i would say are string cheese, bananas, banana bread, mac & cheese, yogurt, and blueberry waffles. He has walked but is very lazy, he prefers to crawl!! He sleeps 11 hours a night with a nap in the morning which is usually 1/2 - 1 hour and a nap in the afternoon of about 1and 1/2 hours, sometimes 2!!! Thats funny cae, I was like wow a 2-5 hour nap!!! LOL
