CIO Question

Just curious, if anybody is considering using CIO, how or should I say where is your baby sleeping now? I'm really starting to think I am going to have to resort to it. Transition from bassinet to crib at 3 months isn't going too well. I am very discouraged because she slept so well in the bassinet and now everything is going downhill.

Hi, I used the CIO method and it works great now my son who is 16 months old will sleep from 7pm to 6.30 am. He was in a cot by 3 months but just a few suggestions put her down just as she is dropping of to sleep and i aslo put a lava lamp in my sons room as i found it a calming affect worked. From what i have read in books as long as the baby is not hungry or sick ect this is a great method and it also says in there if you baby is crying after a few minutes go in the room use no eye contact make shure she is ok then walk out do this untill she falls to sleep but make the room visits longer apart eg: You go in there 3 mins after she has been crying if she crys after you have walked out go back in 5 minutes no eyes contact then the next visit make it 10 minute apart she will tire herslef and go to sleep. This was realy hard for me to do but if i didnt do it i may not have a perfect sleeping 16 month old son that i do now if i didnt use the CIO method. I hope this helped alot of mums use it so dont feel bad it will get easier. Good luck
