I have had it so easy until now, my ds would sleep through the night since 7 weeks, and when put dwn he'd go right to sleep. Now since he can stand he is up in his crib and refuses to sleep. I would leave him to fall asleep on his own, but am scared since he hasnt mastered getting down from standing. What did you all do?? I dont want to start a bad habit and rock him, but I cant spend three hours at his door watching him get up and going in to put him back down.I need some advice. He is doing all of this at once...2 teeth sitting crawling standing and taking 2-5 steps in a row. Hes only 8 months, and I thought Id have a little more time to prepare myself!! HELP!

starlight.. the good news is that it's a phase!! when my ds did this I had to go in and out a lot!! it lasted about a week and no bad habits were developed. What I did was I realized that he knew how to stand up but didn't know how to get down, so I used to go in, take his hands off the rail, sit him down, then lie him down.. essentially teaching him how to get down. This worked really well and within a few days he was getting it on his own!! Good luck and keep in mind once the novelty wears off it'll be easier!! Kim

Thanks. It has been 2 weeks, and although he is getting better at getting down, sometimes he falls in the living room, when I am right in front of him. I am so worried that he will get hurt! I hope it ends soon. I am loosing my mind worrying about it!
