Extreme Pelvic Pain Any Advice

I do plan on calling my doctor when the office opens again tomorrow, but I need some advice as to what I should do for the rest of the evening. I am having extreme pelvic pain, when I move, when I sit, and it hurts so bad I have to try and catch my breath. I pushed on the area down there and it feels a bit tender. Any ideas as of what this could be? It's been over a week since I have given birth and I am clueless.

Your pelvis shouldn't hurt. If you had an episiotomy it can hurt for a while but it can also become really painful if it becomes infected. Are you having pain from your pelvis? I have 3 kids and my pelvis didn't hurt after birth, my tailbone was fractured with my second, maybe it is your tailbone. I am sorry I don't have any advice for you really. I hope you feel better soon! Oh, and Congrats!!

Is it your pelvis or is it more where your leg hitches to ur body? Reason I ask is that about a week after Candle was born, I started experiencing it as well and it lasted about a wk an a half.. I asked the dr about it and while I didn't get a "real" answer, I was a__sured it was fine and normal for some, not everyone experiences it.. at times it hurt so bad when I moved, I just wanted to cry! It went away almost 2wks ago (Candle is 4wks today) and I haven't felt it since.

Hey there new mommy! I just read this and wanted to let you know to watch out for fever or anything because my sister had this with her daughter and ended up with severe infection because not everything was expelled during birth and started to infect her uterus, I know it sounds yucky...and since I'm still in the waiting game for my turn with labor I'm not sure if its normal or not, but with her it turned out to be serious so please just take care of yourself and go in to the ER even tonight if it gets a lot worse. Hope you start to feel better soon! Give that lil one a kiss on her fuzzy little redhead for me :-)

Also remember that your uterus contracts to go back down to normal size and that can be painful too from what I hear

Kimberly, I got an episiotomy, I have been taking care of it with a spray bottle, and the pain is more inside than out. January, it is more inside, but I will definitely try taking ibuprofen like you suggested in the NM thread. I know I have a bottle of it somewhere. The nurse said Advil when I asked what to take for any cramps, but I don't have any advil around at the moment. Hey there margie, I am so excited for you, and still waiting for you and your angel to make your ways over to this particular topic! :) I had a friend whose uterus got infected too. I don't want to pump today because of the pain and so my b___sts turned into boulders, and the ice packs barely do a thing! I will go to the ER if this pain gets any worse. I was told to anyway. Hehe I kiss Phoenix's head all the time. She is so darling I have to kiss her every time I pick her up. I just put her in her swing and she is looking at me like, "what the heck is this, and why does it move??"
