Ahhh, a fresh clean thread.

MELISSA, I am so sorry girl! I think someone had it out for you yesterday! I can agree with you on the like 1 hour of sleep at a time.. it SUCKS let me tell you. Since I"ve been trying to get Alana to sleep on her own, i haven't gotten much sleep the past 2 nights. It's just weird, she does semi-okay until 12 (I still have to pat her back to sleep a few times) and then afterward, it just goes to c___p. I was up from 1 to 2 the whole time patting her back to sleep on and off. And then DH seemed crabby about it, so I ended up letting her sleep on me and got a little sleep anyway. DH just got prescribed Ambien, and I hate it. It makes him loopy and just flat-out stupid because he takes it and then ends up not going to bed for a little while.. I just get so annoyed!

Oye Melissa, I hope you have a better day. It's horrible when they're sick and on top of that you don't get sleep. No fun! Well, I finally got a decent night sleep. Hudson woke twice but I just put the paci in and he went right back to sleep. I didn't nurse him, so I know he can go all night. Something must be in the air because my dh was great yesterday. He came home and knew I was exhausted and told me to go rest in our room. He took care of the boys and when I came out he was putting together the new exersaucer. How nice not to even ask once! Christine, that's great that you got some new clothes. I can only fit into a few pairs of old jeans as well. The other ones give me a lovely muffin top, S_xy lol!!! Jo, sounds like you had a good night too. Karen, how's the knee? Hey Suze!

I am telling you the saga never ends! Ellie work up from her nap with a bloody (fresh and dried) nose. So I made a dr. appointment for later this afternoon. She also had traces of blood in her throw up which was mostly mucus. I swear the doctors are going to think I have munchhousen(sp???) I feel like I am in that office once a week, I just don't like the thought of blood and 3 month old, and now I am worried I did it with that sucky thing, although I only used it once and that was early this morning. ARGGG this sucks. On the other side DH and I are going out Friday with friends (it is their wedding anniversary) so that will be a blast!!!! They are so much fun and the four of us have not had a chance to hang out with either myself or Amanda being prego. First time in almost 2 years!!! So if you are in this area watch out for two crazy possiably intoxicated girls!!!! Now I am all stress out about what to wear...no jeans and sweatshirt allowed!!!! Back to work!

Melissa32179 - November 7

opss I meant with either one of us NOT being prego!!!

Melissa, let us know how the dr app went. Sounds like you'll have an awsome time on Friday! Hudson has done really great with his napping. Goes down completely awake and sleeps for 1 1/2- 2 hrs. I don't even have to do the pick up/down thing at all anymore. I swear that book worked!

Christine, have you ever tried Tylenol PM? I used to take that if I needed it before Tyler was born. He's actually been sleeping a lot better. Last night he slept from 10:30 to 5:30AM in his swing! Then after his bottle went back to sleep until 7:30. Not bad! I have to get him a crib!! I feel bad having him sleep in his swing. Tonight he drank 15oz!!! I think I may try cereal again. Melissa, sounds like you'll have a fun night Friday! Have a few for me! ;) I'm actually going to a tricky tray Fri night just to get outa the house. I still can't drive and my knee is killing me. The swelling's gone down a bit today. This stupid brace is driving me crazy!!!! I have to sleep with it on too. I'm getting a little house happy over here. I can't stand to be stuck in!!!! Have a good night everyone!

BROOKE: I wasn't kidding - give me some quick notes on this Baby Whisperer thing. How do you put Hudson down completely awake and have him nap for 1 1/2- 2 hrs??? David goes down totally asleep and naps, at best, 1 hour. Usually it's 30-45 minutes. I'm afraid that I'll never be able to put him down unless he's asleep. He slept great again last night though, from 9:10 until 6:15 this morning. Too bad H was up a few times last night... He and I need to sleep in separate rooms because I just can't sleep!

JerseyGirl - November 8

I just posted another picture of David, taken yesterday. He's wearing shoes!!

So guess what the doc said was wrong with Ellis...you guessed it. SHE HAS A COLD!!!!! But it has not gotten into her lungs yet and I am suppose to watch for that...my doctor cracks me up. I told her about the munchhousen(sp) and she laughed and said bring her in as much as I want!!!! But if she sees me more then 3 times in one week then she gets to keep the baby. I joked and said....if that is all it takes make two more appointments for me. Have I ever told you what her name is??? Dr. Bayer. Dylan thinks it is hilarious that his doc's name is Bear!!!! Brooke: which baby whisper do you have again. We have different ones. Also in my book it says the pacifier is a prop and you should not use props!!! HELLO lady I will use what ever it takes to get my kid to sleep. Well I have parent teacher conferences today. It will be intereseting to see how Dylan is doing in Kindergarten (just think some day soon you will ALL be going to Parent-teacher conferences too!!!!) I think it is funny how I have the oldest and the youngest (by one day)kids on here. Well got to hop in the shower. Dylan and I are going to do some Christmas (yes I said it!) shopping today. He gets out of school at 12 and my conference time is 3 no reason to go all the way home and back again and I figure if I do christmas shopping in stages this year it might be easier. Oh here is a question for all of you: Ellis can not handle being swaddled any more...but when she is not swaddled her arms are constantly moving and she will not sleep for longer then 10 minutes at a time (swaddled she does great...night and day) So what should I do. She is now waking her self up when I have her swaddled too because she is trying to get free from the straight jacket!!!! It is a no win situation. Just wonding if there are any ideas on how to keep her hands and arms still.

JerseyGirl - November 8

Wow, you're still swaddling? David hated that the first week of his life and we've never done it since!! Not sure how to help you there, MELISS. OK, putting David down for a nap fully awake does NOT work. I just tried it now and he's crying. Have to go pick him up. BROOKE: HELP!!!!!!!

Hi girls. My boys are going to have their first cousin, yippee!! My sil and her husband came over and when she didn't go for some wine, well, she spilled the beans! She's only six weeks and get this, she's due July1. Hudson's b day is june 29th. Anyway, yes my boy does naps but he was up all night again and he doesn't even want anything. uggg. Maybe it's time to let him cry for a few minutes during the night. Melissa, the book is baby whisperer solves all your problems. Jo, you have to put him dowm awake and do the pick up thing until he knows how to fall asleep by himself. You will want to kill yourself the first few days lol! If Hudson wakes before an hr and half nap I go in and put him back to sleep. Now if I could get him back on his routine at night I would be a happier girl. Oh and the paci thing the author says it's okay as long as they can still stay asleep after it falls out. Hudson has his paci in when he cries at night so I know he's not looking for it. What's wrong with that little guy???HELP!!!!!

bl - November 8

Melissa, I haven't swaddled Hudson since he was a few weeks old. He always got out and likes to have his hands near his face. Maybe Ellis will start to get used to the movement and it won't wake her.

JerseyGirl - November 8

BROOKE: Congrats to your SIL. And to Charlie and Hudson! Cousins are a great thing. How close to you do they live? I love that Max lives so close to David now... As for this book, I only pick David up when he's crying. If he's just cranking or making noise - but is awake - I pat his tushy and say "shhh." In the middle of the night, this gets him back to sleep, and sometimes during a nap too. But putting him down awake to start with - no way. Never works. It always ends up with tears. (His and mine!)

bl - November 8

Jo, they live like 20 min away. We don't spend that much time with them because they live the no kid, jet set lifestyle! We actually thought it was a good possibility that they wouldn't have any kids. I think we'll def spend more time with them now.

c_baer19 - November 8

Brooke, I am seriously considering buying that book! Alana slept on me last night because DH was too tired to take apart the Pack N Play to move it out into the living room for me. I understand, but I hate that her sleeping on her own was interrupted. If I keep going back and forth, she'll never learn! Anyway, I put a new picture up that I think is funny, and one of her with shoes on too!

bl - November 8

Obviously the book isn't perfect or my boy would be sleeping through the night, but it did help. I'll have to go check out the new pics.
