How Many Hours Does You LO Sleep At Night

My son sleeps from 8-4, then he eats and wakes up at 6:30 for good. I am thinking about trying to eliminate that 4:00 feeding bc my son is 7 months old and I think he can sleep longer. Is that mean of me to try to let him cio and sleep until 6:30 instead???? I don't get enough sleep and I am so tired! If i went to bed at 8 when he does, Id be okay, but i can't fall asleep that early and I like to read and relax after he goes to sleep. am i being completely selfish??

Hi, my ds is 7 mo. as well and he goes to sleep at 7pm sharp every night. I go to bed between 10 and 11, since I just can't fall asleep any sooner. Ds wakes up between 5 and 6 am, eats, and usualy goes back to sleep for another hour or two. So he sleeps about 10-11 hours straight and has been for over two months now. I think you'll be ok leaving out that 4 am feeding.

My lo is 7 months too. She goes to sleep between 9:30pm and 10:00pm and usually wakes up between 8:30am and 9:00am. By 7 months your lo should be able to handle 10-12 hours straight. (Of course my lo still wakes up about 1-2 times per night and can't always soothe herself back to sleep- so I have to get up and help her.) I remember my pediatrician told me that to drop the night feeding I had to make sure my lo was getting enough to eat during the day so that she didn't wake up hungry. My lo eats solids 2x per day (morning and evening) plus 4-5 bottles. good luck. And I don't think cio is selfish. I think he is probably old enough to wait it out until 6:30 am. Good luck.

if it helps u feel better, my lo is 3.5 mths & we eliminated his night feeding & he sleeps 9 hrs, wakes up, eats, &sleeps again for a few hours. cio worked & i was amazed that he didn't even try too hard to cry for more than5-10 minutes. i think if they are hungry they will cry longer & you will know that they need something, but your lo is 7 months, he should be fine! i feel selfish that mine is just 3.5 months & we sleep trained him, but we do have to feed him more during the day, so the days have gotten busier.

My lo is also 3.5 months and goes to bed at 7, wakes between 2 and 3 to eat and then sleeps until 6:30 or 7. We have also kind of been sleep training. I don't think it is selfish at all to cio at that age. He is old enough to sleep 11-12 hours a night. I feel like if I am well rested I am a better mother to him during the day.

My son is 5 months old (today!) and goes down for the night at 8:00 and gets up at 7:00. It took us a while to get there and THE NIGHT I dropped his late night feeding (10:00) he slept 11 hours. Good luck!

Mine is 7 mo. She often waks at aound 3-4 am, We have a rule we follow that has worked GREAT. She wakes and starts crying a little. I go to go to the bathroom and when I come back she usually will have stopped and gine back to sleep. Don't rush in. CIO is not about letting them SCREAM it out, it's about letting your LO learn to settle themselves.

Also, we stopped night feeds months ago. If she does wake up (rare now, she usually goes 7pm - 6:30 am), we usually change her diaper and give a cuddle and settle her back down.
