How many times a day can you suction their little noses? I don't want it to get irritated, but the s.solution isn't working all that well and all my son does is cry and try to breathe. He has the flu (we ALL have the flu...) :o( :o(

Our pedi had recommended no more than 2-3 times a day. he said it can irritate their little nasal pa__sages and cause them to bleed.

also you could try to prop the crib mattress on an incline to help him breath better and vicks has a plug in vapor thing that works good too and for nasal congestant you have to ask for it now behind the counter at the drug store to get the stuff that works the stuff on the shelf is c___p...I had to get my ds some a few weeks ago I just gave him a half dose and it worked wonderful and cleared right up with in a day or two.

I tried to prop his crib mattress last night, but he just slept on my chest. My husband had our 11 old curled up on him last night, too. My neighbor is going to run out and get the vapor plug to see if it will help him out a little. He's about a week shy of 5 months, so I don't think I will give him a decongestant yet. We are giving him tylenol for his fever. My oldest likes Vicks Vapor Rub - they make one for babies, too - don't they?

The baby vapor rub works great, too. We use that and the plug for dd. Also, a vaporizer. We suction her nose as much as she will let us. We alwyas use the saline drops first, and wait a few mins, then suck away!!
