How Much Does Your 4 5 Month Old Sleep

I do not mean at night, I mean during the days. It seems like Angelina take alot of cat naps. Example she wakes at 6:30, naps for 45 mins at 9am. Then around 12 she does another 30 to 45 mons, then again around 3pm. She will then normally stay up till bed time at 7pm. Just wondering if others take these little cat naps! Thanks all.

My dd is 4 1/2 mths and if I don't hold her to nap, she does cat nap. But, she tends to get overly tired at about 6:00, so if she doesn't seem like she has had a sufficient nap by mid afternoon, I'll hold her. I would say if your dd sleeps through the night and doesn't seem overly tired & fussy, it's probably right for her. They go through phases I've noticed, sometimes nap more than others. My dd has slept through the night since she was 8 weeks, now all of a sudden the last week she wakes up at about 2 am and wants to stay awake. It's so frustrating, just when I started getting sleep, she switches on me.

My daugher is just about on the same schedule. Sometimes we're lucky and she'll actually sleep for an hour. Sometimes only for 10-20 minutes. She does sleep well at night though.

How is her demeanor? Fussy? Happy? If she is happy, then the naps are probably fine for her. My dd likes to nap for only 45 minutes at a time. Sometimes can prolong her naps by getting to her as soon as she wakes up and giving her the pacifier. It might take a few tries, but sometimes she will then sleep for another hour. I hope she grows out of this and eventually sleeps for two straight hours!

My son is almost six months old (April 4) and this is his schedule most days. Bed at 8:30p.m., usually wakes once for a bottle at night, then right back to sleep. Up at 7:30am, naps about 30-45 minutes around 8:45/9:00. Then up about 9:30ish and back down at 11:30 until 2:00p.m. He usually takes a 30 minute catnap about 4:30/5:00 and to bed by 8:30. I think this schedule developed out of necessity because I have to leave the house at 8:40 every morning to take my older son to preschool (so he naps in the car) and then I have to leave the house again at 2:00 to go to preschool to pick him up so that's when he wakes up. But, this schedule works well for me and him so I'm happy.

My son, who will be 5 months on April 1st, takes 2 short naps (30-45 minutes) a day, and 2 long ones (2-3 hours). With my other 2 kids, they started on 2 long naps only around 7-8 months. :o)
