How To Encourage Finger Foods

My 9.5 month old DS won't eat any other finger foods besides those that are "dry" and even with these he is starting to lose interest. Even his beloved Cheerios. He has become obbessed with tossing everything on the floor for our dog to eat...he finds it quite amusing and my dog just loves it of course (lol!). His interest in pureed food is also starting to lessen every day it seems. He is starting to eat less than he did at 6 months old! On top of that his formula intake is starting to decrease (which is normal I suppose) to about 18oz a day. If his formula intake lessens he should be eating more solids/finger foods but he isn't. I offer him a variety of finger foods every day and more often than not it goes untouched on his high chair. He balks at any "wet" finger foods. Should I be concerned at this stage, or is this fairly normal? Anyone have any suggestions on how to make his finger foods more enticing? I have read that by 12 months they should be weaned off the pureed foods but I doubt that will happen for him at this rate. Thanks!

well i don't have much to tell you as my ds is the same and he is 13 months now! He is soo picky, i just got him eating bananas about 1 month ago, but he will refuse to eat any pasta, cheese, meat, rice, etc. The only things he likes are carrots and peas ( which is new for him this past week) bananas, toast and yougart. Along with gerger graduates juice treats and crunchers. I try so hard to get him to eat crackers, soup, mac and cheese, etc but he won't touch them? The only things he will eat out of a jar now is sweet potatoes and squash which is fine with me. I don't have any info to tell you but if you find a answer i would love to hear it!
