Last night Declan woke up at 3:30 again...I went in there gave him the pacifier and he cried for only five minutes and was alseep. I did not pick him up. So I guess he is learning to soothe himself. This morning I found him with the lovey that I gave him in his hand. I did put him down awake today and patted him on the back until he fell asleep. He gave me a look like don't leave me mom. So I said I will stay with you until you fall alseep and he fell alseep withing five minutes. I think putting him down awake and having him fall alseep with me in the room it is the way to go for us. I was so hard to let him cry for an hour.

Gretta, I hope my DH bonds with my son soon. He does peek-a-boo with him but that is pretty much the extend of it right now. I wish I could feel like I can leave them. My son only wants me. I need to figure out a way to help them bond more. My DH does the morning routine of giving him a bottle and changing his diaper but that is pretty much the extent of it. I am so overwhelmed with work and tired right now. I pray that they bond more. My DH told me that he cannot wait until ouyr son is doing more and able to talk so he can bond more. He just has no clue how to bond with an infant.

We are having fits trying to get Caden to sleep. He hates to sleep in his crib last nite we sit the timer for 1 hour. He cried for 53 mins. We would try patting him shhhsing him and stuff. We tried not to pick him up. The nite before that we would pick him up the crying lasted about as long and he only slept for short bursts after we would lay him back down. Last nite after he cried himself to sleep he slept for 9 straight hours. Now tonite he fell asleep eating and now he is awake an hour later and no patting is making him quit crying. Our problem was that he sleeps in our bed but now he has got to here if your not holding him up against you he would wake up in cry..If I am laying on my side (which is how i perfer to sleep). He would crawl over and pat on me going mamamama and when I roll over he crawls up on my chest and wants to sleep with his knees on the bed and his upper body across my chest. But I don't get any rest that way. So now he is screaming and we are not sure how to fix it. I hate this crying thing but the only way he will quit is if we hold him and how else are we supose to break it..grrr I am very flustrated b/c it makes me want to cry when he is crying so much.

I am sorry toheard that some young men are having trouble to sleep atnight . Alexander knows what is the crib for and when he is tired he start to fuss. That is the way for him to tell us is time to go to bed.. once i put him in his crib he falls sleep within a minute or two... he will wake upt from 89 to 6 now... but his day naps are very short. he has one in the morning for about 45 minutes and no more thantwo hours in the afternoon.. I hope you little ones have a good night tonigth///

CAT..you are breaking my heart!!! that sounds so adorable...it is very hard. i would much rather sleep like i used to with him on my chest, but he is so big, it isnt comfortable for either of us. jt has been sleeping through the nite, but i am scared to tell you that...every time i say it he starts waking up... CAt...my dh is the same way...not into the infants. it is very stressfull sometimes, but i have my parents to lean on. anytime i need to do something, they take the kids...it is wonderful. i also have a friend that loves my kids, and her twins are almost 12, so she loves having the baby around, and my dd plays with her dd...i am very blessed with friends and family. i hope everyone can sleep better...i know how horrible it is when you dont get rest!!! OH YEAH...jt doesnt sleep during the day very much either...only if he is in the car, usually. i CANT BELIEVE we are on part 5...i wonder how many parts we will end up having by their 1st b=day..i think it is so cool that we have kept in touch, and i hope we do until we all have grandchildren!!! wouldnt that be cool??? you will all be invited to jt's wedding!!! hope you can come!!! HAHAHAH

My we are having fun with our sleeping - not - babies!! Aiden went down at 7.30pm, woke 20 minutes later, patted his bum and he slept a further 45 minutes, same again and he then went til 11.30pm ...Then he decided to party until 2am!! Nothing would put him away - not a feed, not his soother, being rocked or his bum patting - or being left to shout at me!!Then he finally dozed on until 5.30am and woke up for a further half hour and then my dh came in from nightshift and booted us out of the room!! (Aiden was awake by then!) His naps are easy to time , he generally sleeps a straightforward half hour every 3 hours..If I'm very lucky he has an hour and a half every now and again - bliss! Duggie is great at this stage with the babies....he reckons they are not so fragile and he can throw them around without fear of hurting them....Okay.....But he is very quick to just stick him in his walker and thats it....It doesn't bother me hugely , I know he does more with them as they get older - I sit and watch at the park etc - he does all the rough and tumble stuff....Kids are off school today and its tossing it down, Duggie is sleeping..Its going to be fun keeping the noise level down!!! Catch you later...

The little lady of the group is having sleep problems too and a runny nose! She has had the runny nose for a week and hates it when i squirt those saline drops up there. She went down last night at 6:30 and really pitched a fit going down naturally because my mom came over for dinner so my mom read her Curious George (which is not PC (politacally correct) by the way because George gets kidnapped and he smokes and gets put in jail and makes a jail break and sets fires) Than she woke up at 10:30 of course right after I had fallen asleep. She woke up again at 2 and was playing in her crib and than again at 5:00 where I pulled her into bed with us so we slept until 7:00. She had a huge milestone yesterday though - she woke up and all day everything was DaDADAD DAD DADAAA DAD...she never jibber jabbers like that so she was talking up a storm!

Hows the new house going Gretta? Any sign of selling your old one yet? My neighbours are driving us insane just now - I wish they'd all move back out again !!! - We've got 3 new families on our 8 house block...and 2 of them make me grind my teeth!!!

iemc19 - November 5

Aiden's been out of sorts all day today - he now has a dry cough thats irritating him....bound to happen with all the sniffly kids around - who wouldn't catch something going out at Halloween in the rain!!

Gretta - November 5

We have had a ton of showings since we swapped realtors - one today one yesterday actually so thats good news and we dropped the price this week too so hopefully it will sell soon. UGH UGH UGH! Cat - how is Caden doing on the Swallowing? Have you started him on finger foods? I started Clo on some Cheerios - throw them down on her tray and she is working to pick them up but can't quite pop em in her mouth. Its really cute. She attacks her sippy cup now though - loves to chew on the spout but not really drinking a lot from it.

Sonrisa - November 5

So last night I broke all of the things that I was trying not to do. I fed him at 2:30am. He just cried and cried. I rocked him and when that did not work I put him in bed with us. I wonder if all of our babies are starting to teeth. I have to say...I need sleep. I might hit the sack early tonight.

Gretta - November 5

IRENE - Okay I know we have only known each other well OMG its about 1.5 years now if you think about it because we all met up in the first trimester...But I just saw your kiddies and thier halloween piccies and they are all growing up so fast!! You have a teenager! And Rhianna has long hair now and jakey lost his toddler look - sniff sniff!! Your kids are so cute! I so wish I had or could have 4 kids. What a fun bunch!! April posted some new pics too! Sonrisa - you need to update Declan!!

catgiggles - November 5

O I was wondering is Caden the only one who wont hold his bottle? I can get him to try to hold a small two ounce bottle from childrens and he is not very good at tilting it up to get more. But to hold his milk bottle he totally refuses. Are yalls holding thier own bottles yet?

Tara - Aiden gets a bottle at bedtime but while he doesn't mind holding it with me, he's no-where near ready to do it himself! And he's the same with his cup - Iput the 'anyway up' style away - the ones that don't leak, you have to suck really hard to get anything...He just can't get the hang of them!! Funny to watch but.....So he does drink a ton out of the other style of cups...He loves finger foods too - has been getting them for a few weeks now...He's now working on his finger/thumb grip for smaller bits...Almost there! Another stupid night behind us...Got til 1am before he popped awake - I had been to him 3/4 times previous - And at 2am he dirtied his nappy!!!! Haven't had that in months!! For a milli-second I thought 'you wee bugger, you did that on purpose, you can sleep in it!'' !!!! Haha!Evil mother!! But then he went back to sleep a half hour later and that was him til abouit 7/7.30....Maybe another tooth, maybe his cough, maybe just being a downright pest!!!!

iemc19 - November 6

Gretta - it's true , I was saying the same thing- their school photos came in last week...Rianna's in p3 now...In p1 she had long pig-tails and a young face, in p2 , it was short and bobbed and she had the biggest chipmunk cheeks! And now she's grown her hair long again and her face has soo thinned out!!! I notice it in her the most! Matthew hasn't changed since he was 5 - thinned out but thats it....Except the att_tude! - And Jake has become a wee boy now...But he is sooo sweet - wakes up with a beaming smile and a lovely 'good morning mum' ..Tugs the heart strings every day!! Of course then he goes and squidges Aiden's cheeks together and you want to throw him in the outside bin!!! But hey!!! Life would be boring otherwise!!!
