Hi ladies - I am going to have a group of mom's over in a few weeks and was hoping you all might have some snack suggestions, or good punch recipes! We are all mainly bfing, so I'm looking for ideas that aren't too garlic-y etc. Thanks!

I've got two standard party dishes that are always a hit - 1) Spinach Dip in a Pumpernickel bread bowl - sour dough or crackers work, too. There's a great recipe on the back of the Knorr's vegetable soup mix. and 2) Cherry tomato, fresh basil, and mozzerella cube on a tooth pick.

ooh - the tomato on a stick sounds good! Thanks :)

Teriyaki chicken wings (the drummettes) and rice b___s.... we served that at my baby shower and none of the over snacks were even touched, if you have a costco in your area you just buy a BIG bag of the little drumettes and some rice and you can feed an army, get a cheese ball and crackers and your set. Go to the Ki

This may sound weird but it looks really pretty and is always a big hit and parties/showers. Take pillsbury cresent rolls and before they are cooked spread them with cream cheese (plain, onion, or veggie) and place 2 thin aspargus spears inside. Roll them up and bake.

If you like spicey food and it won't bother your baby this is a must!!! Brown 1 tube of original breakfast sausage, add 1 brick of cream cheese and 1 can of rotel. Let simmer until throughouly melted. Serve with some sort of scoop chips. Tost_tos scoops or frijitos scoops are the best. I get more compliements on this dish than you can imagine. I also recently went to a party that had a neat dish. I think the lady used a brick of cream cheese in an unfolded package of crescent rolls. Fold the square of crescent rolls over and around the cream cheese and bake it. Serve with crackers. It's really yummy.

My best friend made the yummiest (and easiest) meatb___s at the baby shower she threw for me. You blend grape jelly and chili sauce (or salsa) and pour over meatb___s.

punch recipe: 2-2 liters of lemon lime soda or gingerale, 1 small can frozen orange juice concentrate OR 1 small can fruit punch concentrate...depending on your taste preference (if you can't find the frozen fruit punch you can get one of the bottles of ready to drink Hawaiian Punch), 1 small bowl of Rainbow Sherbet. Just mix it all in the punch bowl in the order given. This stuff is soooo good. I make it for b-day parties and it is always the first drink to go. Then everybody is complaining that they have to drink soda...even the adults.

One of my favorites a Layered Mexi-Dip. I personally make mine without refried beans, but if you wanted to, it could be layer #1. Otherwise, mix 1 pkg softened cream cheese, 1 8oz container sour cream, and 2-3 tablespoons of chili powder and mix until smooth. Spread in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Then pour a small container of Ortega mild taco sauce over the first layer and slightly spread until smooth. On top of that sprinkle an 8oz bag of mexincan cheese (or colby jack if you prefer) on top of that, reserving a little bit for garnish on top. Now for the remaining layers add any veggies you like. I typically do lettuce, onion, and drained canned pet_te diced tomatoes. But you could also do olives, jalapeno, anything you like. Then top with the small amount of cheese you reserved. cover with plastic wrap and *lightly" press down over the plasic wrap to help all the toppings stick to the base. Serve with your favorite brand of tortilla or corn chips. My favorite punch recipe (because it is so easy) is put one cup of sugar, two packets of any berry flavored kool-aid into a microwave safe bowl. Add just enough water to make it pasty. Microwave, stiring every minute, until sugar has liquified and most of the crystals have melted. Set aside to cool. Once cool add sugar/kool-aid mix to a large punch bowl and stir in 2 - 2 liters of 7up. Add enough ice to cover the top of the punch, then add 1 quart of any flavor of sorbet. This recipe is also great to do for baby showers as you can make it either pink or blue depending on her flavors of koolaid and sorbet.

I like to make mini-sandwiches. I buy the Hawaiian bread rolls and lunch meat and cheese. They are super easy, and cheap. You can have your condiments set out with them, and then cheese and crackers, or fruit.

Kara's Mexi-Dip reminded me of another simple dip recipe - cover a layer of cream cheese with bean-free chili and sprinkle with shredded cheese. Microwave to warm. Serve with tortilla chips.

These are always a huge hit- cuc_mber sandwiches- cream cheese mixed with a pack of dry italian dressing mix spread on top of rye bread (the mini loaf- found in deli section of store) then THINLY slice cuc_mber and place on cuc on top of breadand cream cheese mixture then sprinkle dill on top super yummy and easy. Also in a crock pot throw some meatb___s or smokie links and top with bbq heat and serve with tooth picks.

this is always a big hit they are called pinwheels...1 sm can minced black olives 1-sm can green chiles 1-sm jar palmentos and some minced red onion sliced very thin chopped good and two reg size bars of cream cheese 1 packet of dry ranch dressing and 1 package of large flour tortillas 8....you have to make these up the night before...first let the cream cheese sit out to soften some then you take that and place in a bowl add black olives, green chiles, minced onion, palmentoes, and package of dry ranch dressing mix well you can add as much or as little as you like of the above ingredents I use most of each and all of dry ranch dressing you then thinly spread the mixture on the tortillia shell and roll it repeat until all mixture is used up you should have used all tortilla shells now you have the rolled up (just like a burito but open at the end) you place them in the frig overnight then in the morning you slice them...hence the name pinwheels...this may sound odd but it will be a big and I mean big hit every time we have a work function or a family party I get asked to bring these!! even if you do not like all the ingredients you will love these....
