My daughter is one week old today. About how many poopy diapers should babies this age have in a day??

It depends on if you are b___stfeeding. I seems like as a newborn all my dd did was eat, sleep and poop. I would say several. If you are b___stfeeding, usually it is after every meal ( in my experience) and if bottle fed, maybe 3-4 times a day. Every baby is different though. My nephew was b___stfed and would only poop 2-3 times PER WEEK!! My dd was b/f for 8 weeks and she would poop after almost every meal!! I think it just depends!!

Both my bf babies pooped about once per meal, but not ness after each meal. That was when they were newborns. They did this for several months. My youngest is now 8 mos and may only have one to two a week. Newborns, bottle or b___st fed will have more than an older baby. As long as they have wet diapers and at least a coupel fo poopy diapers then should think it is fine.

I was b___stfeeding, but now its just formula because she wasnt geting enough. She has a million wet diapers, and only one poopy diaper a day. Im not sure if it is something to be concerned about or not. I have always heard that they should have at least 3-4 day.

My dd would poop before or during each feeding...that was how we knew it was time to eat...so she would average 7-10 poopy diapers per day. She's almost 4 weeks and she probably still has about 7-8 poops a day.

My ds never went more than once every other day and its more often than not once every 3 days. He's formula fed.

It was only 10 months ago that I was in your situation. Unfortunately, I already forgot the number of poos...However, I do remember that the nurses said that one poo is considered to be the size of a quarter. So if a baby has a large bowel movement, then it could count as 4 to 5 poos. Likewise, a baby may have several tiny ones that count as one a piece. I would just call the hospital and ask the nurses station. I also had to keep a pee/poo journal. My new mommy brain was fried. I could not remember anything for 5 minutes. Good luck and congrats on the little one.
