RSV Anyone

Has anyone's lo's been diagnosed this ever? Trev went to the doc today and I was told that he had a double ear infection and RSV. He was given amoxillicin for his ears and a nebulizer for his breathing treatments of albuterol. His temp was almost 104 last night and it's finally going down today, (under the arm is 102.5). He's been getting Tylenol every 4 hours and the nurse just called me and told me to switch him to Motrin...I guess my question is, how long until they get better? His poor eye is all goopy/yellowish stuff and he just feels like overall c__p. :o(

My son was diagnosed with RSV almost a month ago. He also had ear infection on both ears. He was also given a breathing treatment. He was hospitalized on the 5th day he was sick. But he only stayed there for a night. About the 7th day he got better. He's now doing great. Hope your lo start to feel better.

My son had this also about a month ago. He too had both ears infected, red goopy eyes, and the breathing problems. He didn't need the breathing treatment because he was just wheezing a bit. He also had the fever. His eyes and ears were better within a week, but the cough lasted about 2-21/2 weeks. He is so much better now though. It came on so fast.

My dd had it when she was 9 months old. She was in the hospital for a night and had a nebulizer for several days. She was better within about a week in terms of cold symptoms, breathing problems and fever being gone, but she was lethargic for about a month afterward. It just left her exhausted. After that month she was back to normal!

How old is he steph ??

He's 7 months old. Now he's got a really raspy/hoarse cry as well. This sucks. I feel so bad for him. I didn't go to work today and I don't plan on it tomorrow either. He's been drinking water and juice, but doesn't seem to be that interested in formula or b___stmilk. The ped said that wasn't a big deal, and to give him whatever he would drink....he's also lost 5-6 oz's since Thurs when he was at the doc last. Poor little guy....I hope he feels better soon. :o(

Day 5 from the start of the illness tends to be the worst, so if he's not crossed that thresh hold yet make sure to keep an eye on him closely until you get past it. Around day 5 all the mucous that has been building up in their respiratory tract suddenly loosens and falls into their lungs. If he seems to be having any trouble breathing at any time don't hesitate to take him to the ER. I'm not trying to scare you, just wanted you to know it can get pretty bad sometimes.
