Sleeping With A Bottle

I'm having bedtime/naptime issues with my 10 month old ds. I was doing good at getting him to sleep without a bottle at about 6 or 7 months but one day he refused and has not since given in. He is sooo attatched to his bah-bah and I'm nervous that come time to wean him around 12-14 months that it is going to be impossible! He cannot fall asleep without a bottle! He would stay up for a week if I held out! I also know that it is terrible for thier teeth but I dont know what to do. I have tried to give him water instead but he gets mad, throws the bottle then continues onto an even bigger fit.

This is not the answer you are wanting to hear but the only way to break him is to take it away and listen to him cry. I know it seems mean and impossible but really there is no easy way around it. Try taking it away for naps first and then take the bedtime bottle away too. I am really not for the bottle in the bed thing because of the teeth issue and it is just a bad habbit to try and break. But, we all do things as mothers that we thought we wouldn't. Like my dd is becoming a thumb sucker and I always said I wouldn't allow it. Now if I could just figure out how to take her thumb away! lol! Believe it or not the crying won't last that long and he will eventually tire out and fall asleep. I thought my son would never sleep without his paci and when I finally took it away it really was only bad for a couple of days and then he did just fine. Good Luck!
