What Did You Call Your Bump

I was reading how sophandbob came up with her screen name and it got me thinking about what other people called their bumps before they knew what they were having or before their baby actually came. My bump was called peanut until i was 12 wks. I had a few early scans after a few scares and she looked just like a peanut! After that she was called melon because her head looked GINORMOUS on my 12wk scan!

We called ours Thumper because he was such a kicker!

As soon as we found out it was a boy we just starting calling him Brody since we already had our name picked out. Sorry that was a boring answer, LOL.

krnj - January 21

We did the same as Aurorabunny with my son. I don't know what I'm having yet this time so we've been calling the baby peanut.

We called James "In Da Tummy" He was my in da tummy...Oh gee I miss being pregnant! I DO NOT miss the hiccups he used to have in there though, they felt WEIRD!

After losing three pregnancies, we were over all the cutesie stuff. We had oodles of u/s so we knew at 12wks we were having a boy. It was Baby Max from there on. I really didn't get to enjoy my pregnancy with Max since I had so many previous problems. I focus was just making it to the viablility mark so I really didn't enjoy the pregnancy at all until 28wks. I really want to get pregnant again once, but my body needs a little break.

Sorry to hear that Kara but sooo glad you have your little Max now :o)

Sorry that sentence didn't make much sense! Max was hitting keys and I was trying to delete what he was typing and reall mess it up! :)

I know that all my friends (and myself) b___h and moan about how much we have to pay in health insurance premiums, deductables, and copays. But I guess we get what we pay for. I can't say enough great things about our peds office, their full time phone nurse, children's hosptial, and nationally ranked New Life maternity wing. My Ob was wonderful too. I saw them every two weeks from 20 wks on and had 8 ultrasounds total. Yes I still have my portion of the hosptial bills I'm still paying on, but I guess it was worth it. Do you guys get better care if your pregnancy is deemed "high-risk"?

We had a book about pregnancy that describes what the features of an embryo look like at different stages and then describes the baby's size for various weeks. So, at about 7-8 weeks it was "lil mitten hands" (because the hands in the picture looked like the baby was wearing thick mittens. Then it was "rice baby", "little bean" or "peanut", "peachy babes", etc... after I could feel movement, we pretty much stuck to "baby" lol... real original ;-)

I have always called my oldest son Hazelnut (his name is Hayes) and he was reading Huckleberry Finn when we found out I was pregnant - so he named the baby Huckleberry (so mom would have a Hazelnut and a Huckleberry) and it just stuck. He actually still calls him Huckleberry.

Until we knew she was a girl we called her Baby Good because our last name is Good. Then when we found out she was a girl we named her Abby and that's what we called her. Although sometimes we joked that the ultrasound might be wrong and then we would name her "Abner" instead of "Abby". So we sometimes referred to her as "lil' Abner"

Emmie - January 21

We called baby Nathan 'lil jumper' because in his 12 week ultrasound he was jumping all around on his head. We still call him that sometimes.

Crissy - January 21

We always called mine our little pumpkin since I was due in October. :-)

i called my dd 'squiggles'. with my ds i was too busy with dd to come up with much else... sometimes S.Q. Wiggles was a variation.
