When Does The Episiotomy Heal

I thought that by now I would have already been back to normal but it seems thats not the case, It still sometimes burns when I use the ladies room (sorry for the TMI) and although my baby is 10 weeks old we have had s_x only twice becuase it hurts so bad! When are things going to get back to normal? How many other women are in the same boat?

Hey Heather F! I had a 3rd degree tear from my son's birth- he is now 6 months old and I still have some pain durring s_x. The good news is that it has gotten so much better, and it seems to get a little better each time, so hopefully eventually I will be back to normal ( probably about the time we're ready for baby #2 LOL)! If you are really concerned give your OB a call just to be sure that everything is healing properly. Good luck!

Same here. My daughter is 4 mos 2 weeks old, and I still have pain during s_x and some bowel movements. My OB made an inscision, and then I tore the rest of the way (all the way!!) So, I am hoping the pain subsides soon. S_x is getting better each time, but the bowel movement pain is still strong. Sorry if TMI !!!

Hi, I feel your pain!! I only had three stiches inside...and it hurted bad until three months down the road... We only had s_x at 3 and a half months.... That is something people don't tell you about pregnancy... For me it actually hurted more AFTER than the birth itself.......

I just had my baby 10 days ago and I can barely feel my episiotomy. I don't know how bad mine was or how many st_tches, but it doesn't seem to bother me too much at all.
