Antiphospholipid Syndrome

I have had 2 m/c and then found out that I have antiphospholipid syndrome. I have to take a baby aspirin everyday and am on a progestrone suppository. Approx. 8 weeks pregnant now after m/c in Feb. Very worried. Does anyone else here have this problem?

Yes, I had an induced still birth at 28 weeks and was given no answers as to what when wrong. Years later I had low platelet count and was then further diagnosed with Antiphospholipid Syndrome. I, too, am pregnant, 9 weeks. I am on baby asprin since my diagnosis of Antiphospholipid Syndrome and now I am on Lovenox (a low weight molecular Heparin). I see an OBGYN and a perinatologist. I am scheduled for many appointments, blood tests and ultrasounds. I am confident that we are doing all we can to keep this pregnancy to full term. 15% of women who are pregnant will miscarry, so even with my current drug treatments I may still miscarry. But, I feel that I am doing the most I can with the information that I was given (antiphospholipid positive). So just take it day by day and I hope that you will have a healthy baby. Good luck, you are not alone.

Hi - I was diagnosed with APS after a miscarriage with my second pregnany. In my first pregnancy, I had severe preeclampsia and was induced at 28 weeks (baby lived). After diagnosis, I went into a third pregnancy armed with knowledge, many doctor visits, and a lot of medicines! I gave myself injections of heparin twice a day from 5 weeks until the end (and also took BP meds and thyroid meds for other conditions) but I am thrilled to say that we made it to 37 weeks and had a healthy, 7 pound boy! It CAN go good and does for MANY woman. I suggest you ask about heparin shots. It is not fun, but it is SOOO worth it if it works! I am convinced that they are what got me to a healthy baby boy. He turned four in May and is a happy, healthy little guy. I wish you the best and will keep checking in to see how you are doing.
