Is It Okay To Have Sex If Possibly Pregnant After 3 M C

Hello ladies, I was just wondering if anyone else is in this boat and has any answers. I may be pregnant, not sure and won't know yet for about four more days. I feel bad putting my husband off, but I'm terrified of having s_x until I know that I'm not pregnant. We have lost three babies and I'm terrified to lose another. I'm currently on progesterone (not sure if that's the problem or not, but trying it) and scared that having s_x could cause problems. Does anyone with a history of recurrent m/c know if we are told to wait until the 2nd trimester to resume normal love making? Thank you so much!

We had a hard time getting pregnant, and spent a lot of time with the RE to get that way. I only had one miscarriage, but after that when I found out I was pregnant the second time, the RE did advise no s_x for the first several weeks. I don't think it was the whole first trimester, it may just have been until after the first 6 week ultrasound, or maybe until the eight week mark. He said although s_x probably would be okay, just to be extra cautious he would prefer it if we didn't just until the pregnancy was clearly well established and on its way. I had progesterone too. I'm now 27 weeks pregnant and so far everything is normal.

Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer. I feel bad asking my husband to wait when I'm not even certain that I'm pregnant, but I just don't want to lose another one! :) thanks again.

Hi Niki, I have had 2 miscarriages also and when I got pregnant again me and my hubby decided not to have s_x until we were sure it was ok. I don't know if it was necessary to hold off but I figured why take chances. Best of luck.

I lost 4 ... Got preg again and continued to have s_x - I mean, that's what got me that way :) I am now 24 weeks - everthing is fine. Do what you feel is best. If it is unconfortable, then don't - but don't hold out because you are worried - I have had SEVERAL ob's tell me that as long as there is no pain, it's fine. If you m/c it's because of other things, not because of having s_x... Hope that helps.

Thank you. It just seems that every time we have s_x while I'm pregnant, a few days later, I miscarry. But that could just be a coincedence. God bless!
