Trisomy 18 Edwards Strawberry Shaped Skull

Trying Not to Stress - May 14

I'm 33 and 24 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I was told at my ultrasound done at 23 weeks that I had 2 vessels in the cord instead of the usual 3, which is suppose to be fairly common and nothing to worry about. Then my doctor sent me to a bigger city to a specialist to do another ultrasound. I had that done at 24 weeks, that doctor told me she thinks my baby has trisomy 18, she has a strawberry-shaped skull, but no other of the normal symtoms associated with trisomy 18. The only positive way to find out for sure was to have an amnio, I decided not to because I didn't want to take the risk and I definitely would not terminate pregnancy. Does anyone have anything similar? Or has anyone had a child with a strawberry-shaped skull? Please help with any information you can. Thank You.

well i dont have the same issues as you but after having the afp test or tripple marker whatever you want to call it the dr told me that my baby tested positive for down syndrome and slos which is another disability. i decided to have the amnio done and the results came back normal. i was relieved to find that i would have a healthy baby, but now at 28 weeks my baby has no fluid in her sac, possibly fault of the amnio. i wanted the amnio to be able to have a definite answer and prepare myself in case what they were saying was true. i would have cont no matter what but i couldnt go through the pregnancy not knowing. so i have no regrets, but if you choose not to find out for sure then i hope someone can give you some good advice. my prayers are with you.
