HI everyone!! A little about me. I am 32 and so happy to find out that I was pregnant for the 1st time. During a sonogram i was told that I had fibriods and may have complications. On my third month, I had a miscarriage. After the miscarriage I couldn't bare the thought of losing another pregnancy. I do want children so after speaking with my doctor, I am considering having a myomectomy. I would like to know more on having chidren after having a myomectomy. Are my chances good????

Hi Nervous one, how are you? I am 25 years old and had a myomectomy in January of '07. I am now 28 weeks pregnant. I was having a surgery to help me with my endometriosis and they happen to find my fibroids so I never tried to get pregnant before having the myomectomy. There are others in your same position. Please feel free to join us on pregnancy after a myomectomy forum. They have been tremendous help to me. Hope to see you over there!

Thanks, Nervous one, I will be honest with you...I was terrified going into the operating room, but I knew it would all be worth it in the end. I was in the hospital for two nights and I just stayed on top of my medications while I was there. When they say walk, they really mean it. You will not want to, but trust me it was worth it. This may be TMI, but here you have to pa__s gas before they send home so that was the worse part for me. Recovery was not too bad at home. I had a lot of help at home. I wish you all the best and feel free ask question if you have them.
