Positive ANA Success Story

Hi, Just thought i would post my success story in a forum that is oftern filled with sad storys. August 2004 i went for a routine scan to discover my baby was dead. After every test being done to find a reason for my loss, nothing except that i had possitive ANA (Anti Nucleac antibodys ) was discovered. Some of you will know what i mean, to the people that dont quite complicated to explain but basically it means an antibody that has been found to have some relavince to misscarrage, stillborn etc was found in my blood and many others who lose babys. After i discovered this i was faced with the fear that i may never have a live baby. March 2005 i discovered i was pregnant again. My specialist put me on low dose Asprin just in case, early in my pregnancy until 35weeks. (dont think this was the reason for the possitive outcome, but would never know). After many nerve racking scans and a extremly worring pregnancy, i gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Feb the 12th. I still find it hard to belive thats he ok, but am starting to accept that he is going to be fine. Just thought this could show some hope to people with possitive ANA or anyone who has lost a baby. Their is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Nat, so good to read your story!! I am positive for cardiolipin antibodies, which has a similar efffect on the blood to ANA. I had a great pregnancy with my DD (not knowing the I had this auto-immune disorder) but then this year I have had 2 miscarriages - both of which have been attributed (likely!) to the active cardiolipin antibodies. My DH and I are about to start ttc this month, and I am excited, but so nervous.....so your story is just what I needed to hear. Thank you so much!! Treasure that precious little boy of yours!
