Dont Want A D C Worried

I had a m/c on sat at 7 1/2 weeks. It happened naturally at home and was very upsetting and painful. I had contractions for 5 hours and multiple clots and unidetifiable losses. I had an internal u/s on wed that found a small black lump that remains in the uterus, which they want to remove to prevent infection. I came out of hospital this afternoon after 2 rounds of inserted pills which start contractions-but no bleeding at all. Its as if my body thinks its all out, so it doesnt want to open up again :-/ I am now going though my third blood test, 3rd internal u/s and had 2 painful swabs taken. After all this poking about I have got an infection and am on anti-b. Now they are saying a d/c will be the only way.....I am so tired of it all I want to heal and start ttc and am panicing that they may do more harm than good giving me a d/c. Thank you for any help you can give me, a listening ear would be a comfort.

Hi Rachel, I am so sorry for your loss and your continued complications. I have had 5 miscarriages. The first 4 I refused to have a D&C mostly because I have had complications with anesthesia in the past. Each time I miscarried and did not have a D&C, I became very ill. I suffered from infections and anemia. It also took 4 long weeks of very heavy bleeding followed by 5 years of heavy periods. The last time I was just about 14 weeks so I needed a D&C and was able to get my doctor to agree to do it without anesthesia. I have to say it was a much better experience. Cramping and bleeding were both minimal and I was up and around the next day. Without the D&C I missed 3 weeks of work each time because I was so sick. I have also heard you are more fertile after a D&C. My thoughts will be with you!!!
