Missed M C Amp Return Of Fertility

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a missed miscarriage. I found out at 15w1d that our baby had died and delivered him 4 days later by labor induction. I've been told to expect my 1st period at 4-6 wks. I'm 20 days postpartum and still have pink mucus and brown spotting. Can't imagine being done w/ this pp lochia and having a period in a week. We are anxious to ttc again.

I am sorry to ehar you have lost your little one. I had a silent m/c (same thing) in January at 14w4d and continued to spot throughout the month after I lost her- my doctor did tell me though that if it continued after my period or my period didn't show up after 6 weeks she would treat me for an infection and give me medication to start my periods again. I miscarried on the Ward waiting for a scheduled D&C (which I had the following day due to retained tissue and heavy bleeding) and after thay gave me some meds to soften my cervix. I was told the same 4-6weeks for my period to show but it came on time after 33 days(for some women it can take a lot longer and they have been told by Doctors maybe 8 weeks or longer). If you haven't had your period by the end of the six weeks do a pregnancy test as it is possible to fall pregnant straight away. Your body may take a while to get back to 'normal' after losing your little boy so don't worry if AF doesn't show when you are expecting it - a lot depends on how quickly the hCG hormone leaves your body as to how soon it will take you to ovulate before getting your period approx 2 weeks after that. Good luck in trying again.

Hi Tory, thaks for your quick response. I am also sorry for your loss and for the D&C you had to go through. I hope my pd comes as yours did around 4 wks pp - our losses are similar in that we lost our babies at the same point in our pg's. I'm wondering why you were going to be treated for infection if your pd had not arrived by 6wk pp? Did you have other signs of infection? I just don't like all this bloody mucus I expell about 4-5 times / day. Otherwise, I just have extremely scant brown staining. We were going to squeak this baby in just 2 months before we both turn 44, and now our time is ticking away again. Our lost baby was our 8th, and we had 7 healthy pregnancies and babies prior to him. As you can tell, we are chomping the bit to ttc again. Are you ttc or pg? Either way, Best Wishes! ~Kim

Kim, the reason being as continued spotting can be signs of infection even without a smell coming off it and she said it was better to treat it as signs of infection with antibiotics than leave it any longer without it resolving. I was diagnosed with an infection after the birth of my second son but it took 8 months of continuous spotting/bleeding for it to be diagnosed. I am currently pregnant again (30w3d today) and this is my 6th pregnancy, 4th baby. I have three boys aged 5, 3 and 18 months. No idea on the s_x of this one! I am 27 so age has been on my side! 7 children! My word! LOL! I am panicking at the thought of four! I hope you are lucky again to have your number 8 soon. Sending sticky vibes and lots of baby dust your way!

Hi Tory, I am so happy for you and that you are on the homestretch of your pg! Thanks for answering my question about infection. I think I'm ok and I know that the spotting is normal - that is lessening. Only the pink blood in the mucus when that comes out is a bit bothersome. I just wonder why it goes back and forth so much. Today, there has been very little of that, so maybe, just maybe, it will end soon. I am hoping for all the best for you and your new little one! Thanks for your well wishes! ~Kim.
