I didnt even think to ask my doctor about this. Im waiting for his phone call, but i thought id ask it here. Is it ok to have s_x while waiting for a d&c or natural miscarriage? I've had a missed miscarriage (suppose to be 12 weeks, but only found sac) and am waiting for the d&c till tomorrow or monday.

I would think that you would put yourself slightly more at risk for an infection. I would hold off for a bit.

You have to ask yourself. If you hadn't discovered the missed miscarriage would you be having s_x now? I wouldn't of known about my missed miscarriage until 30th Jan however I paid for a private scan on 6th Jan and discovered that the baby had died at 7 weeks I should have been 9 weeks and I'd been having intercourse. Not knowing and it didn't do me any harm. I'm sure the doctor will be in a better position to advise you. A natural, miscarriage could take weeks to happen! I think it's a personal decision. Let me know what the doctor says. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Kira-- Wow, I went to add on your other thread about having a natural mc or d&c, but after typing my whole response, the page didn't load after I clicked submit. That sucked!! So, here, I'll reply again.... The D&C was the best choice I could have made... It took about 15 minutes and I left the hospital less than an hour after I woke up. I bled lightly for about 5 days... No cramps, pain or anything. My best advice is to NOT have s_x for that 2 weeks after the surgery that they tell you not to. I did about 10 days after the surgery and it irritated my uterus and I bled again and worse... HERE is some hope though.... The day of my D&C my HCG was almost at 10,000. That took exactly 5 weeks to get down to 0. and I ovulated and conceived once it did. I am now 26 weeks and this is the best pregnancy I could ask for. I had 3 miscarriages total and that D&C was best. So, if you want to TTC again... once your HCG hits 0 (ask your doctor to test them again after the surgery).. you will ovulate. As far as your question about having s_x before the surgery... I don't see why that would be a problem at all. Although, by the time you read this, you'll probably be done and over with the surgery.. Good luck!!!
