When Is A Blood Test Accurate When Late With Af

Hello lovely ladies, I'm 6 days late with my af and I called my doc and they said come in for a blood test after you're a week late so I'm going in 12/5(9 days late) I took 2 tests between today and last Thursday and both negative. I have been regular for about 4 years so this is unusual to be late and my hubby and I just started ttc last month. I don't have many symptoms though except a little cm about 10 days ago and flu like symptoms last Monday but only for 24 hours. I'm confused on whether blood test will be accurate because I read that some girls test negative with blood then positive later. Any advice? Baby dust to all!!Lee

If you are pregnant, you will probably test positive. make sure they do the quant_tative hcg, it will give you the exact level of hcg in the blood, anything 25 or more is considered positive. You DO NOT want the qualitiative test, that one only gives a preg. not preg. result, so if the level was 24 it would day neg. and could be wrong. remeber tha thcg builds in the blood first, and then at some point spills over in to the urine. For some women this can happen quickly and for others it can take a couple of weeks. There are even cases where a woman will never get a positive pee test. I wish you luck. Let me know what happens. Baby dust.

mvj-Thank you, I always like your answers-very informative! I didn't know about different tests so I'll be sure to ask for the right one. I'm pet_te in size so I wonder if that would effect your levels? I'll keep you posted.Hugs,Lee

I don't think size effects the testing at all. Let me know what happens! Good luck!
