Hi everybody my name is Kellie I'm 36 and I'm 7wks 5d pregnant with our first child. I just wanted to know if any of you have ever heard of Inflammatory B--t Cancer. The reason I'm asking is because I was just diagnosed with it. I want you to know what to look for especially now that so many of us are preganant and our br___t are changing. This type of cancer is one of the most deadliest forms, almost always misdiagnosed as a br___t infection and is more common in older women (say 50's). I've done research and found some women who just had babies had symptoms that their Dr's told them was probably a br___t infection from nursing, they gave them antibiotics and sent them home only for these women to come back with no changes to their br___t. That is why this is so deadly, because it can spread pretty fast and it can be months before a Dr. realizes that the antibiotics he's been putting you on has not be working. This is a deadly form of br___t cancer, YOU WILL NOT FEEL A LUMP, the br___t becomes very sore, red and hot to the touch. The skin might look like an orange peel. If you think you might have this the only way to know for sure is to have a biopsy. An ultra sound nor a mammogram will detect this cancer.I had to beg my Dr. to do the biopsy because he kept telling me that women my age don't get this type of cancer. Please type in Inflammatory B--t Cancer in your search engine to read more. It really p___ses me off that we have all been told to check our br___ts on a monthly basis and to look for a lump, only to find out that the most deadliest form of br___t cancer does not have a lump. Thank you for listening and God Bless.

Thanks Rhonda. Unfortunately they did not catch it in time. The cancer has spread to my brain so they have given me the standard 6 months to a year. It's all because my Dr. thought it was an infection. He has been treating me with antibiotics for the past year. I continued telling my Dr. that it had to be something else. When I went in again last week, there were some interns in the room and one of the interns had mentioned Inflammatory Breast Cancer but the Dr. laughed it off saying I was to young (I'm the youngest patient this hospital has seen, I'm 36). When I was leaving that same intern tracked me down and gave me the number to a surgeon who got me in the very next day and within two days gave me the news. I have since been to my original Dr. with the test result and some information I gathered from the web, I told him that he didn't help me but the next person he sees with this at least he would be more educated.

Be strong, Kellie. I have no words to describe such "doctors". My husband is still very angry at the doctor that was giving heartburn medications to my husband's father until he collapsed and finally was properly diagnosed. Thank you for the information, too.

all these statements just break my heart and faith in doctors , this may sound stupid but we need to make medicine a compulsory subject in all schools.

thanks - November 20

kellie, be strong and optimistic. you are young and able to fight it back.

Kellie...I'm so sorry to hear about what you are going through. Thank you for sharing your information with us. I went in to see my doctor a couple of weeks ago because I had blood coming from one nipple when I squeezed. They did an ultrasound and didn't see anything and she tried to get me to take antibiotics. I think I'll go somewhere else for a second opinion. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
