TTC After Loss

I'm 43 years old and my husband and I have a teenage son. In March of 2008 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Sadly, she had an the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and passed away a day before I gave birth to her. She was over 8lbs. and perfect in every way. Of course, my husband and I felt devastated. It is now approximately 6 months later and I have been wanting to conceive as soon as possible. I have a very regular cycle and feel very in touch with my body in this way. I don't use birth control and make sure to have s_x during the ovulatory time in my cycle. I want to know how many times during the fertile time should I be having s_x. I had waited a very long while to have the baby that passed away. It has been such a sad experience for me. It is much more upsetting because of my age. Please could I receive words of wisdom and prayers from any women out there who have had this experience. What are all of you doing to help you through the dramatic ups and downs with it all?

Dear AngelSue, Your story is completely heartwrenching. I am so sorry you had to go through this. God Bless your precious little girl. I am 41 currently going through a loss at 8w4d. I am suppose to administer my meds tonight. :P I have had 4 losses. 2 miscarriages, a missed miscarriage and an ectopic. I also have one little girl 21 months. To answer your question. You should be having s_x either every other day 5-7 days leading up to your "O" time and 1-2 days beyond. ARe you taking your bbt's (basal body temps)? Do you chart your cycle at all..FertilityFriend dot com is a great site to help you with that..and there are many mature moms conceiving all the time that you can compare notes with. Make sure you are using your ovulation kits, as they are a huge help also. I wish you best of luck and I am sure your wish will come true very soon. :) Oh many days is your cycle? and what day of your cycle are you on?
