a friend of mine just told me that she has been told that her uterus is higher than normal, what might that mean? she is around 18 wks, cheers.

Nothing. Mine is the same way. It just means it's a bit higher than most people because of where it sits in the body. The advantage was my midwife can usually hear the fetal heart tones earlier in my pregnancy, like at 8-9 weeks.

I think it might also have to do with the due date. Women usually measure around the same number as the number of weeks along that they are. Maybe you're due earlier than your doctor thought!

I'm 18 weeks today and the top of my uterus is about 3 inches higher then my belly b___ton, where as in most women that doesn't happen til well after 20 weeks. But I'm pretty short and my doc said that that has a LOT to do with it. Might be the case with you friend also.

No, the uterus size doesn't have anything to do with the due date. The uterus can rise and grow faster with each pregnancy. Also, the question is, how low is the person's belly b___ton? I keep reading where my uterus should be, but know it's higher because I know where I'm feeling those kicks. Higher than they say I should be.

I feel kicks higher than i "should" also! maybe we all have low belly b___tons or something,

LOL, and I'm really tall, with a really long abdomen. My uterus just sits high. But I carry high and I don't even look pregnant until late in pregnancy as a result :) It's all good :)
