there is a nerve in your back that will cut off oxygen supply to the baby.i'm 26 1/2 weeks and sometimes i lay on my back but not for long to watch my little girl riverdance.you just want to avoid sleeping on your back. congrats

I don't avoid it, but I don't lay on my back for long periods, I usually take some time after I've eaten' to do that, because thats when I can feel the most movements.. For sleeping and resting on the couch I lay on my left side.. better circulation.. oxygen etc..
