Accuracy Of Gender Prediction

Well i go for my u/s in February to find out gender but the suspence is killing me! I was reading online today that couples can "plan" which gender they want to have. It said - boy sperm travels faster but dies faster. Female sperm is slower but lives longer. So, for instance, the site said... if you have s_x 4 days before ovulation only female sperm will be left at the time of fertilization and the baby will be a girl. If you have s_x 1-2 days before ovulation (or the day of) the male sperm will swim faster and get to the egg first and the baby will be a boy. This wasn't a "planned pregnancy" so i wasn't trying any technique but based on this theory, my baby would have to be a boy. Has anyone used this method? Or in retrospect does this theory apply to the gender of your baby? Just wondering how accurate this is..... Thanks! :o)

Well the theory is kind of true... yes female sperm is slower and live longer and male sperm is faster and dies faster......but i got preg with my daughter 2 days prior to ovulation....i think it's safe to say that the closer you are to actual ovulation, the more likely it's a boy (unless your dh only shoots out girl sperms) :o)

Thanks for the response. If you had a girl despite the theory then i guess it's still possible for me. I'd kinda prefer my first to be a girl. But i'm pretty sure i had s_x the same day i ovulated. Well, i guess we'll see.
