Anyone Else Hd A Low Lying Placenta

I am almost 14 weeks and have had an ultrasound last week that indicated my placenta is close to the os, or cervical opening. Has anyone else had this and it has moved up during the pregnancy? Apparently when it is diagnosed in week 20 (6 weeks away for me) it moves up by 32 weeks. Apparently it does in most cases anyway and I really hope it does in mine as I really don't want to have to have a Caesarean!!! I guess I am just looking for reassurance. I am thrilled to be pregnant regardless, as I had a missed miscarriage in May.

Don't worry. 90% of the time this is corrected as the uterus stretches the bottom becomes the sides and then the top. Mine was low lying and posterior and has fixed itself in 10 weeks. Now its right where it should be, placenta previa is extremely rare.

I was in the same situation for my 1st pregnancy. It moved to the proper position by week 34. No need to really worry. As lindsay said, 90% of the time it does corrected itself. Just enjoy your pregnancy and don't worry.
