I wanted to know if you all could help me make a list of things the baby needs before shegets here. I have the crib, the changing table, the dresser, and a slider rocker. I have a few clothes and a boppy pillow. What other practical things should be purchased? I.E. How many bottles are enough and how many changes of clothes do our LO's actually need? Thanks guys!!

One more thing, What kind of toys do you guys recommend buying and what about bathing?

Hi Jen. I am putting the Jumperoo on my registry as well as some Baby Einstein toys and DVD's. I remember that anything that played music, my son absolutely loved! As far as bath stuff is concerned, I will be registering for the newborn to toddler tub. I do not know who makes it exactly, but I saw it in Target. It seems to have some sort of "holder" in it for newborns, but can expand for when the baby gets bigger. OH, also get tons of onesies and bibs along with burping cloths. Trust me, you'll need them. Just make sure you get some onesies in larger sizes so you will have them if you need them. Hvae fun shopping. Oh yeah, by the way...we find out what we are having on Thursday!!! YEAH!!!

Toys with mirrors are great for little ones, but for the first couple of months babies don't play with toys much. We bought a little baby bath and ended up hating it. We bathed our babies in the sink and they liked that much better--it just worked. When they grew out of the sink they went to the tub. That was just us--some people like the baby baths but for us it seems that they get too cold. Are you going to be b___stfeeding? If so, you need less bottles. I always b___stfed and used the bottle occasionally, so I only needed 4 bottles or so. I don't know how many you will need if you exclusively bottle feed. You could also start stocking up on diapers--they are so spendy and it is nice to have a stash before baby is born, otherwise it seems like you are constantly running to the store to buy more diapers. Receiving blankets are great for swaddling. Burp rags, pacifiers (if you plan to use one), little washclothes, and towels, are the other things I can think of. Also, you might like to have a baby swing b/c some newborns are soothed by them. Overall, I would say it sounds like you are pretty well set. Newborns don't need much at all.

haha thanks guys! Cant wait to hear if its a girl or a boy pomny!! When you say lots of onesies would that mean like maybe enough to change the baby 3x a day for a week with out washing? Or is that too many. Also we have been wanting to buy diapers ahead of time but I have no idea what brands are a good and those that suck! Also how many new born packs do you need? I have so many questions so i am sorry. hahaoh and I plan of BFing only. I want to get a pump I know because Shon (my DH) wants to feed the baby too haha. I just dont know how much to buy of what I need. This is my first baby haha if you cant tell.

WHEW. What a question. Alot of it depends on your baby's personality, which you won't know till she arrives =D. I used the Baby Einstein baby mat with the mirror and hanging toy things alot, that was great for both back and tummy time. A little pillow comes with it for tummy time until she learns to keep herself up. Rattles and plastic toys that are small (like pear sized) are great! Plush stacking blocks are fun way into todderism (is that even a word?!!?). A mirror with lights & music did tricks for long car rides - they have them that attach to the headrest for the backseat and it also provides you with a view of her face from the front seat. Have plenty of onesies (of course) and easy to slip on clothes - those fancy kid outfits are overrated!! i piece slip on dresses with bloomers are the way to go! Pants that snap on the legs are always great for diaper changes on the go! Now, for bottles, I LOVED the playtex drop its - Natalia never had problems switching from b___st to bottle and back with those. I bought the target brand drop ins once I wised up and realized not everything in life needed to be name brand hahahaaaha. Dont buy the walmart kind - they leak. Umm. OH YEA. Medela Double Breast Pump. ALL THE WAY. I bought mine on ebay and purchased a sterilization kit and loved it. I still have it so I am ready for #2 hahaha. Ummm yea - I will post more when my brain starts working again hahaah. LUBS YOU!!

Onesies I would say just buy a couple of the big packs from Wal mart or Target and have them on hand. Figure on changing her 2-3 times a day - BF babies have very runny poop and Natalia had b__wouts at least 4X a week. As for the diapers, I used Pampers Swaddlers when she was first born, after about 6-8 weeks she had grown a bit (she was long and lean when she was born) and I switched to Target Brand which were great and most comparable to the Pampers Swaddlers. I think that answers your questions. =D

Thanks missy!!! Now this is a retarded quesion I know but playtex drop its are a type of bottle right? Fancy names. haha ok so 2-3x a day! that makes sense! thanks on all the ideas for toys! And if you guys can think of anything else at all please let me know. What about those whatchamacallits those thingys that go above the baby and make noise while they are lying in bed. haha

Missy - November 8

Playtex is the brand, DropIns is the type - check out babiesrus.com they have a starter pack which is great! The Mobiles are fun, I bought Natalias on Ebay cuz the ones in the store are like $30 and I found her's for $14 on ebay. HTH!

Wow!! Let me see? Onesies for sure Jenn, Lot's of them, I found that even if I was constantly changing my lo Diaper, esp. during the night, I had to change everything. I had less complaint with Pampers Premium & Luvs are pretty good. You'll need PJ's.. My favorite were the Gown type Less ha__sle when changing Baby at night.....Something else I noticed is that My Breastfed Babies used more diapers......Avent has a good b___st pump & You'll def. need a Baby Swing, Colic Drops, Rec.Blankets, Burpy Clothes....Nursery rymes Books are fun...You pretty much have all your furniture already, So i'd say Your set girlie....I'm sure you'll get lots of outfits on Your Baby Shower, I would wait until after She's born to see what Colors You like to see her in, That's what I did esp.after baby shower I rec. nothing but Pink....Have Fun Jenn!!!

heya jen.. im pretty much freaking out... I've decided that I'm just going to buy changing pads and use those until I get to NE and buy a stroller and bottle warmer before we leave. I'm clueless about toys and stuff too.. I stress too easily. lol

jennifer_33106 - November 9

Brandy~ thanks! I forgot about books! I have never heard of colic drops. I havent really though about bedtime. haha I was thinking about getting those sleep sacks. I have also heard good things about pampers and luvs but nothing but negative about huggies. Stephanie I forgot about a stroller. haha and a car seat. and a high chair. haha It is all a bit overwhelming huh.

Iamamiracleangel - November 9

I've bought all pampers, I heard from a friend that huggies are not good for boys, but since you have little brianna, you don;t have to work about that, hehe. I have a high chair, but we won't be using them for a good couple of months. I have some newborn diapers, some 1's, 2's. I also have onesies from newborn through a year old.. LOL I'm way a___l retentive... My mom is sending the basinnette next week, yay!!! :) Now I can get Logan's area started, hehe. Do you have Brianna's started at all?

jennifer_33106 - November 9

haha yeah! we painted the bedroom when i was 17 weeks I think. And all the furniture is set up. We just have to get the small stuff! haha we are still going with the jungle theme. Girls like animals too. haha What do you wanna do for the nursery theme?

Iamamiracleangel - November 9

Well, right now we only have a one bedroom apartment. A lo wasn't in our future when we first moved in together. So, for now, I'm going to rearrange some furniture in our bedroom and set him up with his basinette and a mini dresser and stuff in the corner area. Once we get to NE and we have a bedroom for little man, we're going to make the theme Pooh Bear. It wasn't my first choice, but everyone seemed to donate pooh stuff so I figured I'd go with it. I wanted to go a Noah's Ark or Jungle Theme also, I love animals and I want him to grow up loving animals too! And of COURSE girls love animals! I think it'd be cuter than a frilly pink, lol. Either way, she's going to have a gorgeous bedroom and 2 VERY loving parents:)

Hey Jenn, Who's Brandy? lol haha....Anyway If You were asking me (Brenda)haha!!! Colic Drops come in handy, Even though You are Breastfeeding, Some babies still get a little Colicy & I wish someone would have told me about that type of relief when my first born was here, He cried like there was no tomorrow 8 hours straight, But I survived Oh & so did he, all it was was GAS!!! AKA Colic.....If You have any other questions ask me, After my second baby I learned what was more convient & easier & more useful.......Hope that helped you, Have a nice weekend : )
