is it safe to bleach your teeth while pregnant? again, it is one of those things not proven and not recommended, but i drink coffee every now and then and bleaching really helps from the stain buildup.. anyone know?

You should check with your doctor. I personally wouldn't do that right now but to each is own.

i have a bleaching system that i got from my dentist. i used it last year for a few weeks then every 6 months or so i just get a touch up for a day or 2. but last time i saw him, he told me not to use it while pregnant. although theres no concrete proof, he just wanted me to stay on the safe side.

My husband is a Dentist. The only safe whitening that he said can be used during pregnancy is whitening toothpastes. I highly recommend Crest Vivid White. ALL other forms of whitening (professional, trays, white strips..everything) carry the risk of swallowing the whitening chemical AND your gums are extra sensitive during pregnancy and whitening can seriously irritate them. If you feel you have staining from just coffee, a good whitening toothpaste will help, or getting a cleaning at your dentist's office would remove surface stains as well.

Teeth whitening is a no-no during pregnancy (except the toothpastes which are harmless and imo, ineffective anyway).

I was told by my Dr that the crest whitw strips were okay and he is really old fashion and by the book... I use them every once in a while
