I am terrified that I may suffer severe postpardum after I give birth. i didnt fear this until my boyfriend pointed out how severe my mood swings have gotten since I became pregnant. Even before I became pregnant I suffered from depression. What should I do? How concerned should I be?

I wouldn't be concerned until you get you get there. Why worry about something that hasn't even happened?? You are wasting energy... When / IF you have issues with depression after you give birth contact your doctor. He / she can easily get you medication and in to see someone that can help you. I think a little bit of moodiness is totally normal after having a baby. I had a few days of just crying after my first baby... Your body is on a sever dump of hormones.. it is tough emotionally (some woman have absolutely no issues with this either). ~~ I would enjoy your pregnancy now... worry about depression when it (if) happens... xoxo

Hi Christi, I had postpartum depression with my first and it was hellish and this is my third (Im due in March) and I have the same worry. If your moods have gotten very bad ( not just *a little bit*) then maybe mention that to your doctor because depression can be common during pregnancy and talking it through can help so much and also you will have a support system in place in case you do get more than a case of the baby blues. Im not saying you will though :) But if you're nervous it wouldnt hurt to mention it to a doctor. xoxo
