Diapers Formula

Does anyone have a preference to which diapers and formula is better, there are so many to choose from?

I used Isomil with my first. Babies supposedly like the taste of soy. Plus, I was bf and supplementing w/formula and that was the reccomendation from the nurse. As for the diapers, I'm just gonna wait for you other ladies to chime in, because it's been a while for me, and there was a post, no long ago, that described some good differences, opinions from recent, previous babies. Like I think Huggies was good for girls, and Pampers good for boys? or v/v?

We used Similac with our other 2 kids, but may use the Wal-mart brand this time. It has the same ingredients. As for diapers, we've always used Huggies and Luvs. Pampers always leaked on our daughters.

I used Huggies with my son and loved them, I didn't like Pampers at all, they leaked for me too. As for Formula I used Similac, but I am going to try b___stfeeding this time. M, I have a question for you, you said you supplemented bf with Isomil, how many bottles a day did you give your baby, because I also want to supplement with formula, just don't know much about it becasue I have never done it before. Any advise you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks

We primarily used huggies but we did have problems with the tabs breaking. I often use the store brand and they worked just fine (except at night). At first, I used whatever anyone gave us as a gift.

I used "ready to use" similac. For diapers I have always used pampers for newborns and at about size 2 switched to huggies. I think its all personal preference.

My daughter was allergic to Pampers...I know that sounds really strange. We used Luvs and had minimal trouble with diaper rash...plus minimal leaking. As for formula...we started out with Similac...but the allergy princess struck again and we had to go to Isomil. I hope this one is not as allergy-prone!!!

Hi, It's been 15 years, LOL, but as I recall, I BF totally for about 2 weeks, then my mother insisted that my daughter wasn't getting enough from me so I inquired to my neighbor ( a registered nurse) and she said it would be great to supplement her with bottles of Isomil. Perhaps the soy formulas are more compatible to BF, I don't recall, but I also think she said they were less allergenic?. So I started by giving her 2 little bottles, 1/2 full a day for about the next 3 days, and then moved up to a full little bottle 2 times a day. As she grew perhaps 3 day? Whenever my b___sts were full I fed her. I did this for about 4 months and it worked out really well. I didn't feel worried about not producing enough, it was convenient, and my baby seemed more satisfied. She was a happy baby, and healthy as a horse. It was great, too, because grammy and pops got to feed her as well, something besides water. The benefits of BF are def there I think. The iimmunities they receive from b___st milk cannot be duplicated by any formula. It wasn't until she was 9 months old, that she got a sniffle/cold. That was the time I went back to work! :-P

With my first I used Isomil. Soy formula smells awful when they spit up. With my second,weI were cursed with reflux and colic for 8 months. The only formula he could tolerate was ready-to-feed alimentum. I used huggies for girl and papmers for boy.
